The international sensation that started off with their hit single ‘MMMbop’ will be here this Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in front of Dallas Hall. The trio will be promoting their new album “The Walk” and are passing through town on “The Walk Around the World Tour.” This is no traditional tour. Hanson is using their music and bare feet to create awareness and raise money for the fight against HIV/AIDS, sponsored by the Take the Walk campaign. According to the Campaign’s Web site, the initial launch of Take The Walk began with one-mile barefoot walks staged across the U.S. and Canada. The walk was meant to help inspire individuals to make an impact through simple actions. Thousands of individuals participated in these walks, lead by Hanson in partnership with TOMS Shoes. The end result provided thousands of shoes to impoverished children in South Africa.
After the walk, be sure to check out Hanson at the House of Blues. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m..
If you get a chance to hear ‘The Walk,’ you’ll be glad to know that they, along with their music, have definitely grown up. Their music has matured and is definitely worth taking a listen.
