The Hanson band arrived in Brazil on Wednesday, 23rd and received the press at the Windsor Marapendi hotel in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, for a press conference.

“It’s too much to see our music hit so many generations, children of fans, fans who are going to our show for the first time. It’s amazing to see people living 20 years and still be connected with us. It’s strange to meet younger fans than Mmmbop (laughs), “Taylor said of the band’s success.

Celebrating the band’s 25th anniversary and 20 years of Middle of Nowhere, which sold 10 million copies worldwide, the brothers perform with the “Middle Of Everywhere 25th Anniversary World Tour” tour that has already gone on North America, Australia, Chile, Argentina and now comes to Brazil.

“Brazil is one of the most beautiful places in the world and the fans are wonderful. We want to be here whenever possible, the fans are very warm, “added Isaac Hanson.

Around here, the brothers present themselves on August 24, at Km de Vantagens Hall RJ, in Rio de Janeiro; August 25, at Hall BH Advantage Km, in Belo Horizonte; August 26 at Citibank Hall in São Paulo and August 27 at the Fonte Nova Arena in Salvador.

Rock & Pop[ translated]

A quarter of a century can cause many things, among them, that we look in the mirror and assume that water has already passed under the bridge, or that we ask “and what was …”

Among those memories, it is impossible to forget Hanson , obviously, with the “MMMbop”and some other news that tells us “this year the song fulfills [insert the years here]”. Well, before that success, the Tulsa brothers had already left with the band and their album “Boomerang” , and that celebration brought them back to Chile .

On Saturday, August 18, Isaac, Taylor and Zac performed at the Underground Club FULL , and not only with curious ones like one who wanted to know if they really played and if they really were like wine (it was a matter of looking at the photos and watching Who ate all vegetables as children), but also with fans and fans who really chanted the hour and 40 minutes that lasted the show.

From hits such as “Penny & Me”, “If Only” and “This Time Arround” went through their somewhat more current themes (2013), but also featured more recent songs like “I was born” released this year.

What’s so special about Hanson at this point in life? That live have a solid sonority and it is noted that since very young were really involved in music. The fact that they change instruments, the closeness with the public, generates a very special atmosphere and gratitude to their fans.

Globo GShow [ Translated ]

In Brazilian lands to make shows in four capitals, the Hanson group was an illustrious presence in the Meeting of this Thursday, 24/8! Idolized by young people who love hits like “MMMBop,” the Taylor brothers, Zachary and Isaac rocked the web from the first minute they appeared on TV.

Right from the G1 in 1 minute , Mari Palma – who wore a T-shirt with the “Taylor Hanson was my first love” t-shirt ( Taylor Hanson was my first love in translation) – trembled as he interacted with his brothers.

“Help, bad day for not being there, Fatima!”

New Hanson Collection to Lodge “MMMBop” In People’s Heads Again

The Second Disc

Twenty summers ago, it wafted through the early summer air like pollen: a wordless chorus with an absurdly chipper melody, sung by three brothers with shoulder-length blonde hair. Hanson’s “MMMBop,” an international chart-topper, didn’t lead to wave after wave of commercial success for the Tulsa, Oklahoma trio, the group–now together for a quarter century–continues to turn out solid pop-rock tunes for their devoted fans. And this fall, a double-disc greatest hits compilation brings to the casual listener their best work, major label and otherwise.

Middle Of Everywhere – The Greatest Hits features 26 tracks from the band’s six main studio albums across two discs. Already prolific songwriters and musicians before they were signed to Mercury Records in the 1990s, Isaac (vocals/guitar), Taylor (lead vocals/keyboards) and Zac (vocals/drums) Hanson’s major-label debut Middle Of Nowhere(1997) was boosted to minor pop-rock masterpiece status thanks to production by The Dust Brothers and additional compositions from master rock songsmiths like Desmond Child, Mark Hudson and Ellen Shipley. (It would, in fact, be misguided to brand Hanson as a one-hit wonder, as multiple singles, including “Where’s The Love,” “I Will Come To You” and “This Time Around,” all reached various Top 40 charts around the world.)

Leaving the major label industry behind after 2000’s This Time Around and a personnel shuffle that found them moved to Island after Universal Music Group shuttered Mercury, the trio continued to record and tour independently, issuing four albums on their 3CG (3 Car Garage) label between 2004 and 2013. They’ve also popped up in some unexpected places; in 2009, Taylor Hanson led Tinted Windows, a short-lived supergroup with James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), Adam Schlessinger (Fountains of Wayne) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick).

Led off by the new track “I Was Born,” Middle Of Everywhere looks to be a fine tribute to a band that never stopped doing good things, even if those things were on a smaller scale. Look for it September 8, and find the full track list below.

Grace Morrison strives for ‘songs that speak to people’

By | August 23, 2017

SouthCoastToday

Grace Morrison’s love of music started young and to the tune of “MMMbop.”

“I wanted to marry one of them,” she said of the 1990s boy band Hanson. “The second I saw them I wanted to join them, meet them, and I never put down a musical instrument after that.”

As a teen, the Wareham native took piano lessons and started writing songs. Beyond Hanson, she was inspired by Lilith Fair, a national tour that featured female singers/guitarists. She wanted to do what they did, and that’s when she learned the guitar.

“We are fortunate to be able to live our dream for 25 years”

By | August 23, 2017

DIARIOUNO [Translated]

The trio of American brothers Hanson, who rose to fame 20 years ago with “MMMbop”, will perform tomorrow at the Opera House and the oldest of them Isaac, said he wants the happiness he has for the anniversary can help people to Fulfill your dreams.

“We feel fortunate to be able to live our dream for 25 years and to have two decades of the launch of ‘Middle of Nowhere.’ We feel empowered to share that with people and tell them that it is possible to fulfill dreams and be able to be that person Which they always dreamed to be, “said the guitarist and vocalist in an interview with the Télam agency.
The trio, completed by Taylor on keyboards and Zac on drums, began his career playing ecclesiastical events in his native Oklahoma, to jump to fame in 1997 with the classic “MMMbop.”
The adolescent, positive sound the group from the American center was showing contrasted with the dark, introspective panorama commanded by Nirvana from the west coast.
This antithesis served as a breath of fresh air in the musical media and was able to take advantage of the spirit of cheerful teenagers who were not identified by the lyrics of Kurt Cobain, Eddie Veder or Chris Cornell .
However, their fame was ephemeral: after giving several laps around the world with the presentation of “Middle of Nowhere”, the brothers did not renew contract with the Universal label and moved to the small British label Cooking Vinyl.
Already without the pressure of a multinational on its back, Hanson removed 10 discs and prepares a new one for this year.
-As you hear in the simple “I was born”, they sound more pop than in previous albums. -Many people do not notice that evolution in our sound and composition. And yes, the next album will be different and a bit more pop than the previous ones. The lyrics, moreover, I think are more connected in showing the positive things that happen around us, than those of the previous one (“Anthem”).

-As which?
– Nothing specific. Basically, we say that it is impossible not to have dreams, so you can always be moving in search of something and taking advantage of the opportunities to grow, not only us, but also the people around us.
“In the sense of being able to fulfill dreams?” -Yes of course. In the case of a band like Hanson, the dream may be to be in the mainstream, but the most important thing is to be happy in the personal life. You can tour the world, but if you’re not happy, it’s no good. And that’s what I want to convey. That we all have talents to bring to light.

“Personally, what dreams are you pursuing?”
– Right now, to be able to continue doing what I do and growing as a person. Personal desire is to be able to inculcate the courage to people so that they can break the shell and realize that they can fulfill their dreams, because however small it may seem, it can become great just by trying to make it happen.

“This tour is to celebrate having fulfilled a dream, then.
– It’s not just that we want to celebrate our most successful album, but we’re also celebrating that we played together 25 years ago. It’s like counting the miles we made, in an important and positive way, because 25 years is a long time and having fans around the world is incredible. And that, at the same time, our album, with which we get those fans, turn 20, is something to celebrate.

-In the dream, is it also about linking your brewery with music?
“Fortunately, we can bring together our passion for music and beer at The Hop Jam Festival, which we do in Oklahoma and it’s the biggest in the state. The idea is to keep growing even more. We can take this festival to the whole world. But first we have to consolidate it here.

-You’re starting in the world of beer. Does it have any similarity to when they started in the music business?
-Making beer is, in some way, like having a band. We have a small beer company, which we hope will eventually grow, but the main thing is to make a beer that we are proud of and we like to drink, because when that happens, it is when we want to share it with people.
