Over their first 28 years as the band HANSON, brothers Taylor, Isaac and Zac Hanson have made a significant mark in music. Starting in 1992, they spent their first five years building a fanbase as an independent band in Tulsa, OK. They saw a meteoric rise with the 1997 international smash single “MMMBop” from their debut album Middle Of Nowhere followed by consecutive top 40 singles. Over their second decade, the band charted their own course, running an independent label while maintaining a coveted connection with their global fanbase. In 2007, they launched a grassroots campaign to support poverty and HIV/AIDS relief in Africa (TakeTheWalk.net).

New Feature: Log In Bar!

By | February 10, 2024

This log in bar feature has been a long time coming and has been something I had been envisioning on the site for a long time but wasn’t quite sure how to make it happen – until now!  No more needing to remember which drop down menu has the login link, it’s now right in front of you.  In addition to adding this feature, there have been a whole bunch of updates:

Register – this form has been updated and now uses a different type of captcha that I hope will be less strict against those trying to sign up for accounts from countries outside the US.

Forgot Password – this hasn’t been working correctly which was causing a lot of accounts to think that they had invalid credentials and were unable to log in unless they emailed me for a work around (which worked for most but not all)  If you were one of those using a workaround, please try to reset your password using the updated page that is live now and try to log in using the new log in bar, if it’s still not working please let me know at blog@hansonstage.com ASAP so I can troubleshoot.

Contact Form – the captcha on this form has been updated as well and some changes made to the “success” message so it is hopefully clearer that your form was sent as I had been getting 2 or 3 at times because people were unsure as to whether or not it was coming through or some none at all because the captcha had decided it was spam.

There have also been various tweaks to other parts of the site to try and help loading times.  One of the more significant changes was removing openers from the tour years pages.  Openers/Additional performers will still be able to be seen on each individual show page but with the large festivals like he We Love the 90s & 2000s coming up this summer, the page was getting to be a bit cluttered.

As always, with new features there may be glitches.  While I try to test the site as best I can before I roll it out, I can’t always replicate every scenario. If your account is being weird or not working right – please reach out to me at blog@hansonstage.com so I can try to fix it for you.

By | February 8, 2024

SLOT

The Slot Festival, which was successfully launched in December, brings international star artists as well as domestic top performers to Turku Linnanpuisto in July. Aqua, Hanson, Paloma Faith and Titiyo X Sunnan will be seen alongside the previously announced headliners The Cardigans and Sugababes.

July 19–20 on the day in Turku’s historical Linnanpuisto, the Slot Festival will be organized for the first time. In addition to the previously announced headliners The Cardigans and Sugababes , four new international star artists are announced for the Slot Festival program: Aqua , Hanson , Paloma Faith and Titiyo X Sunnan .

The Danish eurodance group Aqua, which rocketed to new mega-popularity with the success of the Barbie movie, will arrive at Slot Festival. Aqua, who dominated disco dance floors in the 90s with her huge hit Barbie Girl, will be seen in Turku with a multi-talented live band. Also, Hanson, who was responsible for one of the biggest generational experiences of the late 90s with his MMMbop hit, will perform at Slot Festival, where the band made up of three brothers will play their first festival gig in Finland.

Slot Festival’s Friday program features soulful pop music superstar Paloma Faith. The artist known for his hits “Stone Cold Sober” and “Only Love Can Hurt Like This” was last seen in Finland in the summer of 2015 as one of the main performers of Pori Jazz. Saturday’s program features the Swedish artist Titiyo, known for the hit song Come Along, who has released six albums during his long career. Titiyo brings his 7-member band Sunnan to his gig at Slot Festival.

At the end of December, Slot Festival announced, in addition to The Cardigans and Sugababes, four high-level domestic artists: Egotrippi, Don Huonot, Kwan and Vesterinen Yhtyeinene. With today’s announcements, the day division of Slot Festival’s software is clear and the sale of one-day tickets has started.

The Slot Festival is organized by Sunborn Live from Turku, known for e.g. As the organizer of the Kesärauha festival. The Slot Festival is organized in Turku at the same time as the Tall Ships Races sailing event, which is expected to bring several thousand tourists to the city.

An Update on the Log In Issues

Good News and Bad News…

Good News is that I think I’ve (finally) corrected the issue that has been causing some accounts to be unable to log in.

The Bad News is that in order to implement it I am going to have to take the site down for a bit.

Tests I’ve done on a test database have been successful so I just need to do some tests on the actual site database and get the same results.

Expect the site to be down probably later this week and into the weekend

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but with any luck this will allow all users to actually log in again!

Beyond Perennial

By | February 5, 2024

What songs are you hoping Hanson plays during the Beyond Perennial concert at Hanson Day this year? The Hanson Day page says, “Hear rarely performed songs from their 2020 album Perennial, as well as many more from the massive archive of members only music.”

Perennial was released in 2020 and is a public collection of 20 previously released Hanson.net Members Only songs as well as the new song, “Nothing Like a Love Song”.  There is quite a skew in the number of times the songs have been performed live ranging from 1 to 55.  Which ones are you most hoping for as part of the Beyond Perennial setlist?  How many songs do you think will end up being on the setlist? (For reference, 2022’s Storyteller’s set had 20 songs while 2023’s Underneath Acoustic revisited had 15.)

Better Days  1

Gold Miner  4
Panic in the Streets  4

Meet at the Hotel Bar S2Ep8: Zac from Hanson

By | February 5, 2024

In today’s episode, we met up with the multi-instrumentalist talent that is Zac from the American pop rock band HANSON, in a hotel bar in The Westminster Hotel in London. Hanson, probably best known for their smash hit song MMMbop, have been nominated for 3 Grammys, and sold over 16 million records worldwide…May 6th has even been declared ‘Hanson Day’ in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Listening back to this episode had us in stitches laughing and we hope it does the same for you too, Zac had so much energy, and with 3 decades worth of tour stories we somehow managed to cram them into this episode, we couldn’t think of a better way to finish Series 2!

Stay tuned to hear stories of surviving stage invasions, what happens when 6000 people turn up to a small performance in a mall, how to act when the legs of your drum kit break mid-song forcing your kick drum to literally roll off stage, and what to do when presented with a decaying rotten apple in a glass cage which you apparently took a bite out of several years earlier!

This is Zac from HANSON coming up on ‘Meet At The Hotel Bar’
