Bustle

Are you a dyed-in-the-wool pop music fan? Were you born in the ‘80s or the early ‘90s? Do you enjoy live music? If you replied “Duh doye” to all three of those questions, then I would be down to bet a Furby, a Nano Baby, a pair of Moon Shoes, a Burger King Bart Simpson doll, a dozen holographic Pokémoncards, a tube full of pogs, and one of those gnarly metal pog slammers that you really, really, really, really want a zig-a-zig-ah. Er, wait. Let me try that again: I would bet all of those things that you, you pop music- and concert-loving ’90s kid, wanted to go to and/or went to at least one live show in the ’90s and/or early ’00s. Which live show(s)? Oh, I am thrilled you asked.

Below you will find a list of ’90s/’00s tours that should speak to all of my fellow pop music-obsessed ’90s kids. Whether you attended all of the concerts included in this roundup*, one of the concerts, a few of the concerts, or none of the concerts, you *get* their power; these weren’t just any tours, but The Pop Tours To Go To In The ’90s And Early ’00s.

Here are some of the pop concerts ’90s kids wanted to be a part of:

WEEKLY PIC

Tonight we are sharing another look inside the studio for Fan Club Members. While reminiscing about past projects I came across this simple snapshot from one of our favorite studios, Sonic Ranch, back in 2014. Hope you can tune into the livestream tonight at 6 CST from the making of our new EP. The devil’s in the details.

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

If you have ever wanted to be there to watch the creation of a song at its infancy, tonight’smembers stream is going to be right up your alley.  When we begin to work on a new piece of music, it can take time to meld each brother’s ideas into one shared perspective. Opening up the doors to the studio and letting you watch that process unfold is an invitation to share in the struggles we endure while crafting each new song.  It is not always a pretty process and at times it can be a bit contentious, but that is just the nature of working on something you are passionate about.  It is a special thing to share melodies and lyrics that might never be heard again and to let you watch a song taking shape.  The Stream starts at 6PM CT and will be looping all weekend long for anyone who misses it.

We ran a contest last week to win a special pressing of the Loud Play (LP) vinyl.  Hanson.net members had to answer a question about the member’s only stream and the winner would be picked at random from the correct answers. Congratulations EODXavier, you are this week’s winner!

We will be giving away another Vinyl this week. Just answer the question in the HANSON Asks section and the winner will be drawn from the correct answers.  Big shout out to everybody who joined us last night for the official release of the Hop Jam Festive Ale. Thanks for sharing a drink, Cheers!

Isaac, Taylor and Zac

What the Ale: Hanson Brothers Beer Company set to release a new beer

Hanson Brothers have a new release next week, but it isn’t a song. It is a beer.

Some of you may have already had an opportunity to try it during the Hop Jam Beer Festival. The official release of the farmhouse ale, which is called Hop Jam Festive Ale, will be at Fassler Hall, 304 S. Elgin Ave., at 6 p.m. Thursday.

“Our new release of the Festive Ale has been a long time coming, and we are thrilled to make it our second year-round style after Mmmhops. This Farmhouse Ale is incredibly flavorful but lighter and more refreshing than its Pale Ale brother,” said Taylor Hanson of Hanson Brothers Beer Co.

“The beer was originally crafted as a special release for our annual Hop Jam Beer and Music Festival back in 2014, and has continued to be a favorite at the festival three years running. This beer is true to the Saison style, with a refreshing bright foundation that comes from wheat, barley and rye, with a bit of extra citrus and spice from the addition of orange peel and coriander, and, of course, a clean bittering finish from the hops. We are looking forward to sharing this beer and many more styles with craft beer fans everywhere.”

WEEKLY PIC

This is a fly on the wall shot, taking in the full sprawling chaos of a working studio session as Zac is laying down some vocals. Don’t forget to tune into the livestream tonight on Hanson.net for a look inside the studio!

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

Last weekend, we officially wrapped up summer by celebrating Labor Day Weekend on stage in Rockford, IL.  It was a great night that was only made better with the addition of local legend Bun E. Carlos on the drums for a special performance of Him Or Me by Paul Revere & The Raiders.  If you haven’t heard the version we did for his latest album, you can get a taste of it in the videowe just posted on H.net.

This is a good week for anyone who has been awaiting the arrival of the Play EP.  We are still a month away from the Play EP release, but tonight will begin a series of member’s only streams about the making of Play. Each Friday for the next five weeks, members will go inside 3CG studios and be a fly on the wall as we write and record new music.  With any luck you will hear a lot more music than you learn about Zac’s beef juice diet.

All the best,

Isaac, Taylor and Zac

P.S. Make sure to checkout the Vinyl Or Bust contest.  For the next few weeks we will be giving away signed test pressing of the Loud Play Vinyl. Just watch the stream, answer the Hanson Asks question and you might win.

8 Band-Branded Essentials For Your Labor Day Weekend

Mmmhops

For most, a visit to www.mmmhops.com reveals what appears to be another craft beer company, trying to squeak by in this new craft beer age on sincere brewing techniques and a devotion to hoppier beer. One might even see the banner that says “Hanson Brothers Beer Company” and not think anything of it. But a more in depth analysis reveals that the Hanson Brothers Beer Company is actually composed of everyone’s favorite bowl cut ‘90s pop trio.

Yes, “Mmmbop” hit makers Hanson have also joined the increasingly popular craft beer craze in an attempt to squeeze out the last bit of nostalgia around their 1997 smash. Mmmhops, the premiere beer fromHanson Brothers Beer Company, is described as a “full bodied pale ale with a unique toasted malt signature and a refreshing hoppy finish.” The Hanson Brothers beer is available mostly in their native Oklahoma, but also throughout the midwest. Pale Ales go great with a host of grilled meats, so pair an Mmmhop with a grilled steak or pork loin. I won’t ask you to listen to “Mmmbop” while drinking it. You’re welcome.

WATCH: Without a doubt, we’ve found the coolest Mayor in Ireland

By | September 7, 2016

JOE

He’s like a dancing version of Jon Snow mixed with Serge from Kasabian.

Aside from having all the fun that comes from wearing a livery collar – that’s the actual name for those fancy chains that Mayors get to wear – it’s important for the highest-ranking official in a municipal government, such as that of a city or a town, to meet the public.

Anniversaries are always a happy occasion and for the people of Armagh, they came out in force to celebrate the 40th birthday of the Rushmere Shopping Centre in Craigavon.

To mark the occasion, they made an all singing, all dancing video that featured the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Garath Keating.

Check out his dance moves to iconic tunes like Staying Alive, Beat it, MMMbop, Hey Ya! and Uptown Funk.

Reckon your own local Mayor could top this?
