Now that we’ve met, Hanson brothers, I feel like I can tell you about the first time I saw you on TV.

Friday night, Hanson stopped by Rockford for our second annual Brews and BBQ. Ok, they did more than stop by. They were amazing!

Not only did they put on a great show, but they also each answered my weird questions about them.

I’m sure Issac Hanson did not expect someone to ask him about Pantene shampoo while he was signing a giant cut out of his face, but hey, stranger things have happened right?

While I’m not the biggest Hanson fan out there by any means, I have loved them since the first time I saw them performing on Saturday Night Live. I was slightly embarrassed to tell them that story in person… you’ll understand why when you watch my “love letter” above.

Hanson Makes Rare U.S. Tour Stop at Rockford Speedway

Hanson is playing a limited amount of U.S. dates this year, but they made sure Brews and BBQ at Rockford Speedway was on their schedule.

Fans from as far away as Utah and Texas started lining up during the early morning hours of Sept. 2 for a spot near the front of the stage.

Around 8:30 p.m., the band took the stage in a fenced off area just outside of the Rockford Speedway

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

Today we are taking a little trip to celebrate Labor Day weekend right. The basic ingredients for a proper summer send off are good food, cold beverages and some solid tunes to pass the time. We will be doing it up in Rockford tonight. They are providing a ton of beer and BBQ and we will be providing the music.  Hope to see some of you at the show, It’s gonna be a fun day!  Next Friday, we will begin streaming footage from the making of Play every week in anticipation of the Official release on October 10th. If you are interested in going behind the velvet curtain and watching how we write and record songs, then mark your calendar and join us for a members only stream every Friday this month at 6PM CT. MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

This has been a good week for us, and no it is not just because school is back in session!  We have been making good progress on our 2017 plans, among them where and when tour dates will be coming.  No we are not ready to share anything just yet but, with any luck in 2017 you will hear music like never before.  A big part of next year is sorting through all of our music and deciding what and how we want to share it.  A few weeks ago we asked Hanson.net members to vote on their top 25 songs from our studio albums, when we combined their list with ours it totaled well over 40 songs… that would be a very long concert.  Thinking about our whole career and condensing it down into what is essential is a challenge, but one we are all enjoying.

Speaking of voting, don’t forget to vote for your top Hanson.net songs.  This week we are asking Hanson.net members for insight into the essential members only music.  In so many ways there are two HANSON catalogs, the songs on studio albums and the over 70 songs that have been released as part of Members Only EP’s and special online releases.  We feel like these songs are an important part of our band’s DNA and that they need a place in the HANSON story.

The Play EP won’t come out until October 10th, but in just two weeks we will share the first stream from the making of Play.  Mark it on the calendar and tune in on Friday September 9th for a Members Only look inside 3CG Studios.  For better or worse, this is how we make our albums!

Ryan Reynolds Has Some Insightful Thoughts About ‘MMMBop’ & Air Quotes

Ryan Reynolds rocks a leather jacket and holds on to his helmet before hopping on his motorcycle for a ride around town on Friday (August 26) in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City.

The day before, the 39-year-old actor celebrated his wife Blake Lively‘s 29th birthday and sent her a hilarious birthday tweet.

Ryan also took to Twitter recently to share some other hilariously insightful thoughts.

“It’s difficult… but not impossible to make love while singing MMMbop. I’m sorry for this tweet,” he wrote, referring to the famous Hanson song.

He later added, “It’s neat to have entire conversations using only ‘air quotes’. Also, punching myself to death is fun.”
