For those of you still who still consider “MMMBop” your summer anthem, this is for you.

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend — and their 25th anniversary — everybody’s favorite 90’s bro-band, Hanson, has released a new single and video.

The single “I Was Born,” is part of the band’s newest studio album, a medley of their greatest hits, titled “Middle of Everywhere: The Greatest Hits.” It’s clearly ode to to their first album, “Middle of Nowhere” released some 20 years ago.

Along with their new single, the album will also include fan favorites such as “I Will Come to You,” “Where’s the Love,” and of course, “MMMBop.”

Hanson Add Their Kids to the Family Band in ‘I Was Born’ Video

The “MMMbop” brothers are celebrating 25 years of being a group.

Hanson has always been a family affair and after 25 years as a band that family has grown quite a bit.

The “MMMbop” brothers shared a new song on Friday called “I Was Born” with an accompanying video starring their own kin — 11 of their 12 collective kids, to be exact.

The song is a feel good pop rocker based around the idea of being born to doing something or going someplace where no one has ever before. And it’d be fun enough on its own, but with the inclusion of these Hanson kids is just about unbearable.

“The video is about celebrating the dreams that we all have and the pure optimism of the human spirit,” Taylor Hanson told NPR. “And what better way to show that optimistic view of the world than through the eyes of children? For 25 years, we have been able to live out what we feel we were ‘born to do,’ and this song brings that message full circle.”

As this year also marks the 20-year anniversary of Hanson’s “MMMbop”-featuring album Middle Of Nowhere, the band is releasing a greatest-hits compilation calledMiddle Of Everywhere: The Greatest Hits that will include “I Was Born.”

SOUTH AMERICA LEG ANNOUNCED

HANSON ANNOUNCES LATIN AMERICA LEG OF MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE 25thANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR, FOLLOWING SELL OUT CONCERTS IN EUROPE, NORTH AMERICA AND AUSTRALIA

In celebration of the band’s 25th Anniversary, multi-Grammy nominated pop-rock trio HANSON officially announced their extensive Middle Of Everywhere 25th Anniversary World Tour earlier this spring with concerts quickly selling out in Europe, North America and Australia. Today the group is announcing a new leg of the tour, which will take them across Latin America starting in mid August, including concerts in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Chile. The band kicked off the world tour headlining their own rapidly growing The Hop Jam Beer and Music Festival on May 21st in Tulsa, OK.

Coinciding with their benchmark 25th year together, over which the group has released 6 studio albums and sold over 16 million albums, later this year HANSON will also be releasing Middle Of Everywhere – The Greatest Hits, a comprehensive collection which includes hit singles “Mmmbop”, “Where’s The Love”, “Weird”, “This Time Around”, “If Only”, “Save Me” “Penny And Me”, “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’”, “Get The Girl Back”, plus their brand new single “I Was Born”.

“Making music together for 25 years is a milestone that we had to acknowledge, and what better way to do it than with an anniversary tour and greatest hits album,” said keyboardist Taylor Hanson. Added guitarist Isaac Hanson, “The response the tour so far has blown us away, and we are really looking forward to bringing the tour to fans Latin America to celebrate this important benchmark”.

Besides HANSON’s 25th anniversary, 2017 is also the 20th anniversary of their debut release Middle Of Nowhere, lead by the iconic single “Mmmbop”, which introduced the group to the world. The tour will feature performances of the group’s most widely known material alongside fan favorites encompassing their extensive catalog since their iconic debut.

Founded in 1992, the trio of brothers began performing classic rock ‘n roll and soul music, and writing original material, crafting a unique blend of harmonies and organic soulful pop-rock. The group took the world by storm with their debut major release in 1997, ushering in a string of top 40 singles and establishing them as one of the world’s leading artists

In 2003, the group founded their own independent 3CG Records, starting a new era for the band with their #1 independent album Underneath, featuring hit single “Penny And Me”, positioning them among the most successful independent bands to date. Since then, HANSON has released 3 studio albums under their label, toured the world cultivating a vibrant global fanbase engaged by their dynamic live performances, and released an ongoing stream of special products direct to their devout fan community.

In 2013, the group diversified its brand with the founding of their Hanson Brothers Beer Company, and in 2014 added The Hop Jam Beer and Music Festival based in their hometown of Tulsa, OK, which brings together artists and brewers from all over the world, culminating in one of the country’s leading Craft Beer and Music Festivals with 40,000 in attendance, occurring this year on May 21st in Tulsa. The Middle Of Everywhere Tour showcases more than two decades of music in a celebratory world tour, alongside new music that will be followed by a further release in 2018.

Hanson has a new song out, see the video

By | May 26, 2017

Tulsa World

Hanson has a new song on its recently released album, “Middle Of Everywhere — The Greatest Hits.”

Take a look at the video.

The album includes hit singles “Mmmbop,” “Where’s The Love,” “Weird,” “This Time Around,” “If Only,” “Penny And Me,” “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin,’” “Get The Girl Back” and a new single, “I Was Born.”

In March, Tulsa World reporter Jimmie Tramel talked with Taylor Hanson, one of the brothers in the pop-rock trio, about the project.

“Greatest hits, that phrase is a funny one because so much of your history is in pieces,” he said. “It’s an album here or a song there. So this collection doesn’t cover everything because you can’t in one (album), but it really does, I think, encapsulate the music of multiple albums and it not only hits on singles, but it also includes kind of key songs from the different albums.”

Added Taylor Hanson: “It’s one of those things that if people are kind of rediscovering or getting into the band for the first time, it’s the kind of thing where you get it, and then you get a really good sense of where we have been. And then you can dive in and search out albums you may or may not have since we started.”

Hanson Keeps It In The Family

By | May 26, 2017

HOT1047

Hanson made up of brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac are celebrating 25 years of being a band with a new tour this year and new music!

Their latest song is called, “I Was Born” and for the music video the band of brothers kept it in the family.

The music video features all three band members’ children! I am a fanson, but not a good enough one to tell you whose kids are whose. I can tell you that Taylor had kids first so the older ones might be his? Educated guess.

The video premiered at Hanson Day last week in Tulsa, OK. Yes, there is a Hanson Day and it is a big deal. I have friends that go every year. One such friend verified for me that the kids in the video are their children and Taylor said they held auditions and a few didn’t make the cut. Oh, Taylor. Such a jokester.

I am not ashamed to admit that I literally got goosebumps watching this music video. The color effects at the end are really cool and the whole vibe and theme of the song about being nobody but yourself is just so awesome!

“I Was Born” is available to buy today (May 26th) on iTunes and everywhere!

Hanson’s Got A New Song, And Guess What? It’s Fantastic

By | May 26, 2017

When Hanson‘s inescapable “MMMBop” topped the charts back in 1997, Hanson brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zachary were 16, 14 and 11, respectively. So if you didn’tcome of age to (or otherwise fall in love with) that song and the bestselling album from which it came, this may sound like a bold statement: Hanson was, and still is, a terrific band, complete with real musical and songwriting chops, airtight harmonies and boundless stage charisma. For skeptics, tarring Hanson with the dreaded “boy band” label has been all too easy, but to dismiss it is to miss out on a ton of delightful music.

Hanson has stayed active in the two decades since Middle Of Nowhere, releasing a string of albums amid side projects ranging from Taylor Hanson’s 2009 supergroupTinted Windows to the band’s line of “Mmmhops” beer. So it only makes sense that 2017 — which marks not only 20 years of Middle Of Nowhere, but also Hanson’s 25th anniversary as a band — would spawn a greatest-hits collection, titled Middle Of Everywhere: The Greatest Hits. What’s actually, genuinely surprising is that the compilation’s token new song, “I Was Born,” is fantastic.

Seriously, watch this video. It’s plenty cute, with the Hanson men sharing lip-synching duties with 11 of the most adorable Hansonian offspring you’ve ever seen. But the song is a gloriously rousing, life-affirming top-down anthem that’s virtually impossible to resist — seriously, “I Was Born” is out today, and if it’s not in a car commercial by this time next week, every ad agency in America will have fallen down on the job.

“The video is about celebrating the dreams that we all have and the pure optimism of the human spirit,” Taylor Hanson writes via email, backing up the sense of joy that shines through within the first 10 hand-clappy seconds of “I Was Born.” “And what better way to show that optimistic view of the world than through the eyes of children? For 25 years, we have been able to live out what we feel we were ‘born to do,’ and this song brings that message full circle.”
