It seems like every day this week is show and tell with so many projects reaching completion for HANSON Day and Hop Jam. What other time of year would we have themed popsicles, new beer flavors, two EPs, fortune cookies, bowling balls and lunch boxes all getting wrapped up at the same time? It’s basically like Christmas!

Ever year, the center piece of the HANSON Day celebration is the release of a new EP. Our 2019 entry to the always growing catalog of Members Only music, “In Real Life,” tackles themes of courage and compromise in a quintessentially HANSON way (That means it’s eclectic!). Yes, we get excited about all the special events and cool touches that will make HANSON Day special this year, but we really just want to share this new music and we hope you feel as much hope and joy listening to it as we do making it.

Springtime is here with blooms out and pollen in full production. This also means our festivities in May with Hanson Day and The Hop Jam are not far away. Who is planning to join us in Tulsa in a few weeks?

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

We are only a few weeks away from HANSON Day now, so everything is heading out the door. EPs are in production; T-shirt designs are heading to the printers and paintings are being scanned. It feels like we have been prepping all year for something off in the future, but this week it’s all becoming real. HANSON Day is coming! May has become the start of our year. We celebrate the band’s anniversary by releasing new music, more recently new beer, new paintings, playing lots of concerts and sharing our plans for the coming year. We are looking forward to sharing more about our plans for 2019 and 2020 and bringing you along for the ride as we continue in the spirit of I Was Born, and keep checking projects off the bucket list.

Tulsa OK – The Hop Jam, Oklahoma’s largest craft beer and music festival, will begin the festivities early with the second Firkin Feast beer dinner on Saturday May 18^th, prior to Sunday May 19^th’s festival. The special beer dinner was born to celebrate the fusion of craft beer and culinary arts, highlighting the diverse styles and flavor pairings that bring foodies and beer lovers together.

The exclusive dinner will feature a four-course menu designed by Ben Alexander, Executive Chef of the McNellie’s Group. The culinary experience will pair each course with a special beer from one of the four guest brewers participating in the Firkin Feast.

Diners will indulge in an evening of gourmet flavors and beer tasting with an eclectic mix of the festival’s breweries present, including Destihl, American Solera, Deep Ellum, and hosts HANSON’s Hanson Brothers Beer.

The exclusive event will provide guests with a one of a kind evening as guest brewmasters and chef Ben Alexander share firsthand the inspiration behind the special menu and the selected beers.

The festival, now in it’s 6^th year, has a great history of unique offerings, and the Firkin Feast continues in that tradition, providing a special food and beer experience which, like the festival, celebrates the eclectic beer community in a unique setting.

The dinner will take place on May 18^th at the Bond Event Center in Tulsa’s East Village starting at 8pm. Tickets are available at TheHopJam.com.

Walk outside and you can feel the winds of change. Spring is here and we’re thirty-four days away from HANSON Day 2019 and The Hop Jam. One of the many things that makes HANSON Day special is all the content that we premier during the weekend. Paintings, photos, our new EP, In Real Life (the members ep for 2019) will be releasing to members during the weekend, but lets not forget the other musical experience we will be sharing, Edible Digital Pants.

What are Digital Pants?

Edible Digital Pants represents the third installment is a series which is most aptly described as high-quality nonsense! It is a tapestry of incoherent rambling all from the mind of Zac Hanson. Edible Digital Pants marks the first attempt to channel the flow of ill-conceived song ideas into a single concept, songs on the theme of food. If you are attending HDay, make sure to get a ticket to the HANSON Day Listening Party so you can hear the results and take home a copy.

When someone hears the name “Taylor Hanson,” the mental image that comes to mind is usually that of a cherub-faced boy singing with his two brothers, Isaac and Zac Hanson, in a very basic CGI flower during the MMMBop music video that made waves all around the world way back in 1997.

Difficult as it may be for some to believe, Taylor is now all grown up and has children of his own. According to People, Taylor and his wife Natalie have six children: Ezra, Penelope (nicknamed Penny), Wilhelmina (nicknamed Willa), Viggo, River, and Indiana.

People adds that Indiana, who is the newest addition to Taylor and Natalie’s brood, made his debut on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Much to the envy of moms everywhere, there also doesn’t seem to be a case of sibling rivalry or bickering — the couple mentioned in the birth announcement that their older children were pretty darn excited to have a new little brother to play with.

For every mom that grew up wishing that she could meet the keyboardist with the angelic voice back in the day, live vicariously through the following photos that show how adorable Taylor is with his children and how he’s such hands-on, engaged, and attentive father.

MMMBop! Hanson coming to Maryland State Fair

TIMONIUM, Md. (WBFF) – Ready for a little blast from the past?

Hanson – that’s right, the trio of brothers behind the 1997 hit “MMMBop” – will be coming to Baltimore County this summer to play at the Maryland State Fair.

The fair announced its 2019 Live! ON TRACK! Concert Series, presented by M&T Bank.

Hanson will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23.

Other shows include Souther Rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band on Aug. 24; Academy of Country Music Award-Nominated duo LOCASH, made up of Baltimore native Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, whose “Feels Like A Party” is on the Top 30 Chart, on Aug. 30; and, 80’s Arena Rock band Night Ranger, Aug. 31.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for all shows.

The Maryland State Fair has announced it’s 2019 concert series, which will be headlined by both new and classic artists, including Hanson and a local country duo.

The acts include the ‘90s boy band sensation Hanson on Aug. 23, the southern rock band The Marshall Tucker Band on Aug. 24, the country music duo LoCash (which is made up of Baltimore native Chris Lucas and Preston Brust) on Aug. 30, and ’80s arena rock band Night Ranger on Aug. 31.

The series is sponsored by M&T Bank and tickets go on sale April 13. Some premium, $25 tickets will be available.

It has become an annual tradition to share more than music as part of the HANSON Day celebration. This week we are sharing Zac in process working on paintings inspired by the new “In Real Life” EP. Hanson.net members can get their hands on the new EP, and see all the paintings when they release in May.

This week, we continue to prepare for HANSON Day and The Hop Jam, nudging each project ever so slightly closer to completion. The halls of 3CG are humming with the sound of newly minted music, freshly printed photos and wet canvas. This time of year there is just so much in progress it starts spilling out into the walkways… so watch your step!

HANSON Day is like nothing else we do all year long. Yes, we share a lot of live music, in fact this year we are playing four concerts during the weekend (one every day), but we surround that with special events we just don’t get to do anywhere else. I Heart 2 Bowl Tournament, Painting Classes, Karaoke Night, it can be quite a spectacle, but it is all about celebrating an amazing community of fans and adding to the stories we tell through our music. Of all the events held during HANSON Day, the Hday gallery might be the best example of this. Part photos, part paintings, the gallery is a creative endeavor of a different kind. A visual expression of the band we are, often fueled by the places we go on the road and the themes in our songs. The 2019 gallery is taking cues from several places, but probably most from the new members EP, “In Real Life”. We are looking forward to sharing when you finally get to see and hear them both in May. Until then.
