Former boy band that continues to make critically acclaimed music to play Sands Bethlehem Event Center

A former teen boy band that has continued to make music for more than a decade is coming to Sands Bethlehem Event Center, it was just announced.

Hanson3Hanson, the tow-headed trio of brothers best known for its massive 1996 “MMMBop” but who, now in their late 20s and 30s, continue to release acclaimed music, will play the event center at 6 p.m. Sept. 2, the center announced.

Tickets, at $30 for general admission, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17 at www.sandseventcenter.com, www.Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets and the center box office, or at 800-745-3000.

After the massive success of “MMMBop,” which hit No. 1, went platinum and was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Hanson also had the gold Top 10 hit “I Will Come to You” and a third single, “Where’s The Love,” off its debut album, “Middle of Nowhere.”

That disc hot No. 2 and went four times platinum.

Hanson’s next disc, “Snowed In,” also sold platinum and went Top 10, and its 2000 disc “This Time Around” also went gold with the  title track and the hit “Penny and Me.” The group has since released three critically acclaimed studio albums three live albums and three compilations, two of which also sent gold.

The group is to release a new studio album, “Anthem,” on June 18.
