Hanson, the three-brother boy band of “MMMBop” fame, was just added to the 2010 line-up for the Cape Cod Melody Tent. That’s likely music to American Idol contestant and Marstons Mills resident Siobhan Magnus’s ears, as she counts the band among her favorites. In March, she received an encouraging personal message from Taylor Hanson. According to mtv.com, she wrote on her official Idol Twitter account, “Taylor Hanson: thank u so much for the message u have no idea what it means to me!”
Hanson’s fifth studio album, Shout It Out, written and produced by the band, is set to be released June 8 on their label 3CG Records.
Magnus, a 2008 Barnstable High School graduate, will likely miss the Hansons on her home turf, as she’ll be on tour this summer as part of the American Idols Live tour, for which dates have yet to be announced.
She’ll be back on stage at Barnstable High School tomorrow night for a viewing party of American Idol on the big screen in the performing arts center.
Hanson performs at the Melody Tent on Friday, July 23, at 8 pm. Tickets: $50.75 & $33.75.
