With a fifth studio album by the pop-rock trio of brothers set for release in June, Hanson plans to hit the concert trail this summer with an Aug. 16 tour stop at The Intersection in Grand Rapids.

The Oklahoma brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson, who first scored it big with the 1997 single, “MMMBop,” plan to release their new album, “Shout It Out,” on June 8, then kick off their North American tour of theaters and nightclubs on July 21 in New York.

Tickets, $25, for the Grand Rapids show go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster outlets, 800-745-3000 and ticketmaster.com. A pre-sale will begin Tuesday, but details were still being worked out. Check online at sectionlive.com for updates.

“Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’,” the first single from the new album was released to digital outlets Friday (in conjunction with the network premiere performance of the song on the “Late Show With David Letterman”) and the video for the soulful pop-rock tune had already been viewed nearly 1.2 million times by early Monday evening.
