TULSA, OK — The Hanson brothers will lead a barefoot awareness walk down Brookside Thursday evening. Ida Red Boutique is hosting “One Day Without Shoes,” an event that raises awareness for the impact a pair of shoes can have on a needy child’s life.
The Hansons will lead a one-mile barefoot walk down Brookside starting at 6 p.m. to raise awareness of what it would be like to experience a life without shoes.

“We will meet at Ida Red at around 5:30 and start walking around 6 p.m.,” said store manager Angelene Ripley Wright. Wright said the event is held worldwide, and Tulsa residents will add to the 100,000 people expected to participate in the event.
“One Day Without Shoes” was started by TOMS shoes, a company that supplies a pair of shoes to the needy for each pair of shoes they sell to consumers.
