Go sit down. Are you sitting down? Because we are about to drop a bomb on you. Today, Taylor Hanson turns 30. Thirty years old! It seems like just yesterday he was 14 and singing “Mmmbop,” but now the middle Hanson brother is the big 3-0. Time sure flies, doesn’t it.

We don’t have much to say about this momentous occasion, aside from the fact that he is 30 years old and also, side note, has been married for over ten years and is the father of five. While you wrap your head around that, look at this. Cute little Tay Hanson circa 1998 (that’s him on left).

And look at this. HOT older Tay Hanson circa now (also him on left). We’re into him.

Ready to feel old? Taylor Hanson, aka the “pretty” one from the three-brother pop group Hanson, is 30 years old today.

The middle brother between Isaac and Zac was a pin-up staple / dreamboat for tweens back in the late ’90s, and is now married and the proud papa of five kids. Yes, five.
The group’s biggest hit may have been “MMMBop” 16 years ago, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still making music. The guys are currently finishing their sixth studio album, which is set to drop later this year and will head out on a world tour to promote it. Get it, boys!

            Holly and Taylor won’t let the haters bring them down!

As far as celebrity baby names go, Rainbow and Wilhelmina certainly aren’t the strangest we’ve heard, but new mothers Holly Madison and Natalie Hanson have still taken to the internet to defend their choices.

Reality star Holly, who gave birth to daughter Rainbow last week, has come in for criticism over her baby’s meteorological moniker.

Explaining her decision on her blog, the former Playboy bunny wrote “I have always loved the name Rainbow. There was a girl in my school a few years younger than me named Rainbow and I was so envious of her name because it was so pretty and unusual.

“She was a perfectly normal, well-adjusted, sporty girl, by the way, so I’m not worried about my daughter being ‘traumatised’ by having an unusual name.”

She also hit back at “smug haters” who mocked her choice, saying “I don’t care about what they think. I want my daughter to be proud of who she is and learn to speak up and stand up for herself at a young age.”

Meanwhile Natalie Hanson, wife of Mmmbop boy Taylor has also used a blog post to justify her fifth child’s name, five-month-old Wilhelmina.

After Taylor initially suggested the title, Natalie admits she “had to process for a minute” before realising “he was right.”

“It was a beautiful name. It was clearly feminine, with quite a heritage, and a plethora of pretty nicknames to choose from,” she wrote on Nameberry.com.

“Wilhelmina is a form of William, which means ‘resolute protection,’” she says. “Right now I am so in love with this strong and beautiful name, and even more in love with the girl who bears it!”

Taylor Hanson, the middle Hanson brother, celebrates a milestone on March 14 when he turns 30-years-old! In honor of Taylor, and because I love any excuse to talk about Hanson, this week’s Flashback is dedicated to those blonde haired,  blue-eyed boys, who charmed their way into our hearts in the 90′s with their prepubescent swoons of MMMBop.

Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson, and Zac Hanson jumped onto the pop scene in 1997 with the release of their first studio album,Middle of Nowhere, and the enormous success of their first single “MMMBop.” Following the almost overnight success of the band in the late 90′s, the group was unable to reclaim that commercial success with their 2000 follow-up album, This Time Around.

What have they been doing since?

Although This Time Around preformed below expectations, the brother’s continued to follow their passion for music. Since breaking from their record label in the early 2000′s, they have made a name for themselves in the Independent music world with their last three albums breaking into the top 5 on the U.S. Billboard Top Independent Albums Chart.

Today, the brothers are wrapping up work on their next album (due out later this year).

In January, the group extended an offer to fans to be a part of the music video for their next single, “Get The Girl Back.” The video is the first single off their upcoming, sixth studio album, and includes some famous faces, with real-life fans Nikki Reed, Paul McDonald, Kat Dennings, Drake Bell, and Drew Seeley among the crowd.

Reed and Dennings themselves are close friends, and happen to be long-time fans of Hanson. The actress-turned-singer, Reed, describes the brothers as “polished musicians” and notes:  ”When you’re around them, you have to be inspired musically. They’re so talented.”

However, music is not everything to these men; in between recording and touring, they are all busy raising their families. Each brother is married, and between the three of them they have a total of 9 kids (yeah, that’s right, I said 9). I have my fingers crossed that we will be hearing the next generation of Hanson on our radios soon.
