Hanson Twister: See how are the members of boy bands

physical change and new professions marking the history of the musicians of these groups

There was a time when boy bands dominated the market with hits that were immortalized. They had just come out of adolescence and were already major international stars. But that period is behind us. Today, only the One Direction can repeat the fame of these bands that were so popular among the 80s and early 2000. And, as it should be, the members of these groups have changed a lot since then and some have even more work with music .
This, fortunately, is not the case of the brothers Hanson, who to this day are dedicated to the band that owns hits as MMMBop and Save Me. Although without the same success in the past, the group continued on active with regular tours and sporadic releases songs and albums. Together they are the parents of no less than nine children. Taylor Hanson, 32, is the father of five (Wilhelmina, Jordan, Viggo, Penelope and River). Isaac, 34, is the father of James and Clark. Zax, 29, is the father of John Ira and Junia
Success in the 90s, Hanson band resumes career in Brazil, “grow old like everyone else”

WEEKLY PIC

Behold the Islander salute!

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

Back To The Island 2017 is officially on sale.  That means come January 2017 we will be heading back to Jamaica for a  musical vacation on the beach.  Every year at Back To The Island we try to add something new, whether it’s a new activity or a unique show, something we have never done before and this time around we are letting you vote in a very special way.  During BTTI17 we will be playing three full band concerts and attendees are going to vote to decide the theme of all three.

If you’re thinking a great theme would be dress like a pirate night… though entertaining, that is not what we had in mind.  Themes are more like playlists.  We are letting BTTI 2017 attendees pick the kind of show they want to see.  Themes like album specific shows where we play only music from Middle Of Nowhere, or This Time Around or songs from Members EP’s.  Would you rather see an acoustic concert or a show that only includes ballads?  You pick your favorite playlist and we act as your personal HANSON jukebox.

  • Attendees will receive an e-mail with a link to vote
  • E-mails will start going out the first week in March
  • Voting will go from March 2nd through April 30th

We are looking forward to seeing what wins and making each of the three shows a very special night of music. You have the hard part of picking three shows out of 25 years of music, no pressure.

Isaac, Taylor and Zac

Zac Hanson, Zak Hanson, & Zach Hanson dancing in the new Hanson.net Members Only music video for “More To Love”.

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

Well Sunday is St. Valentine’s Day and that is a great excuse to say thank you.  We have been incredibly blessed to receive so much love and support from all of you over the years and we couldn’t be happier, nor could we think of any group of people we would rather have shared so many crazy adventures with.  Much love from us to you!  As a little Valentine’s Day treat we posted up a brand new members only song called “More To Love” on Hanson.net. It has been added to Super Digital Pants and the madness that the digital project is.  We hope it makes you smile and dance, but most of all just brings a little joy to your day!  In addition to the music, we also uploaded a bunch of new videos from Back To The Island to H.net today.  Looking back at the good times from our week on the island has been a great way to capture all those good memories. Looking forward to next year.

Isaac, Taylor and Zac

3 Entrepreneurial Lessons You Can Learn From Hanson

By | February 10, 2016

Entrepreneur

You may know Hanson thanks to their one-hit wonder, “MmmBop.” But since then, they’ve grown up into full-fledged, multi-faceted entrepreneurs. Together, they organize festivals, continue to make music and produce their own beer label (called MmmHops, naturally).

Entrepreneur caught up this week with Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson in a live Google Hangout. Below are three things the brothers have learned as they transitioned from teen heartthrobs to grown-up businessmen in full control of their brand.

1. Most successful artists are already entrepreneurs.
“When you are a local band, you are an entrepreneur,” says Taylor. Successful artists — and the Hanson brothers include themselves in this group — recognize that art and business don’t have to be separate, but can instead compliment one another. “When I first started doing my gigs as a local band, I had to negotiate with the guy who is running that bar or small theater place, I had to figure out what merchandise I wanted to put out,” says Isaac.

While not directly related to making music, these considerations directly relate to a band’s image and thus impact its influence. Similarly building up a base of loyal fans or followers, either through social media or live shows, should be a top priority for any musician, all three brothers agree. Part of being an artist is getting your work out to the public.

2. The ‘oh shit’ moments are all-important.
Success, be it in art or business, is often achieved by pushing boundaries. “Great art is made by people who are not risk-averse,” says Zac. In other words, it’s important to get outside your comfort zone and do something that scares you. Yes, you risk failure, but failure is a great learning opportunity.

It’s what Isaac calls the “oh shit” moment, the equivalent of standing up onstage in front of a large crowd. At first, it’s an unsettling experience but if you don’t force yourself to repeat it over and over again, you’ll never get comfortable. “The only way to know what to do is to have done it so many times that when you make that mistake or have that unusual experience, you can be like, ok! and move on,” he says.

3. A business partnership is not always a democracy.
The Hanson brothers have been working together for the majority of their lives. Obviously, there have been conflicts. By now, however, they have developed a system for making key judgement calls. Not everyone gets an equal vote for every decision. “People’s personalities play a distinct role,” says Zac. Each brother brings his own unique skillset to the table, and therefore is more qualified to take a leadership position when it comes to certain topics. “Time and history play factors in that.”
