The music lineup has been announced for the Hop Jam craft beer and music festival.
Hop Jam 2018 will feature Manchester Orchestra, Nada Surf, Ra Ra Riot, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, plus other artists.
The date (Sunday, May 20) of the event was announced previously. Ticket and event information is available at thehopjam.com.
Oklahoma’s largest craft beer and music festival, the Hop Jam is in its fifth year and will bring an expected 40,000 guests with music on two stages in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District.
A news release said indie-rock group Manchester Orchestra will make an overdue return to Tulsa, along with the critically acclaimed Nada Surf, Ra Ra Riot, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors and others on the main stage. The full music lineup will be showcased in all-ages, free concerts on two stages and will include the winner of the Tulsa World’s Awesome Music Opening Band Contest.
The contest winner will open the show. Runners-up in the statewide contest will perform on the park stage. To participate, local artists can submit music until Friday, April 20, at tulsaworld.com/awesomemusiccontest.
The festival was founded in 2014 by Tulsa pop rock trio Hanson (inducted last year into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame) and its Hanson Brothers Beer Co., along with the support of the McNellie’s Group. Hanson is not among 2018 performers.
In addition to free concerts, the release said the festival will introduce breweries from Oklahoma, across the U.S. and around the world.
The craft beer portion of the event will feature more than 90 breweries from 15 states and five countries. Among them: Oklahoma favorites Marshall, COOP and American Solera, plus leading U.S. craft brewers Dogfish Head, Jolly Pumpkin, Destihl and Evil Twin; and international brewers including Dieu du Ciel, Omnipollo, To Øl and others.
The festival supports the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma through a special Hop Guitar Raffle, which has raised funds to provide 140,000 meals, according to the release. Guests can purchase tickets online and on-site for this year’s guitar raffle.
Event tickets are available online, with a variety of offerings from beer tastings to VIP options including early entry, access to the Hop Talks panels and a special VIP lounge offering food and select craft beers. Also available is a music VIP ticket. It offers a private viewing platform, indoor amenities, food and select craft beers.
Hanson is again partnering with the McNellie’s Group to host the beer festival. The release said this year’s Hop Jam festival is proud to acknowledge some key partners helping to lend their support to make the event possible, including iHeart Media, KMOD, The Beat, Tulsa World Media, RibCrib, Boardwalk Brands, BOK Center, Rustic Cuff, Bluestem and many more.

The Junior League of Tulsa
Tulsa, OKLAHOMA. The Gem Gala will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, on the Grand Lawn at the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum, located at 2445 South Peoria Avenue. The Gem Gala benefits the Junior League of Tulsa (JLT) and their many community projects which seek to end the cycle of poverty through hands on education and community-based training. That night, we will celebrate community “gems,” entrepreneur and musician Taylor Hanson, and the nonprofit that he founded, Food on the Move, for their continued involvement in making Tulsa better. The JLT is committed to helping feed disadvantaged communities through nutrition education and collection, something Mr. Hanson also strives to do through his work with The Food on the Move Initiative, which has hosted pay as you can events to help eliminate food deserts since 2014.
The annual Gem Gala honors a “Tulsa Gem,” an individual and community organization making significant impacts. Tulsa Gems are chosen based on their impact to the Tulsa community. According to Lindsey Bull and Meagan Tyler, Gem Gala Co-Chairs, “We’re excited to recognize a member of our community who is so dedicated to making a better Tulsa, as Taylor Hanson’s mission with the Food on the Move Initiative closely aligns with JLT’s mission of promoting voluntarism and improving the community through effective action of trained volunteers.”
This year’s signature gemstone is the sapphire, and thus blue will touch every aspect of the black-tie event. The evening will begin with a VIP cocktail hour at 5:00 p.m. available to all sponsors, with live auction and dinner to follow. Guests will have the ability to bid on unique items including jewelry designed by well-known local jewelers. Dinner will be followed by an after party with dancing and entertainment.
Sponsorships are currently available at www.jltulsa.org/fundraisers/gem-gala or by calling 918-663-6100. All sponsor levels include a VIP cocktail hour, dinner, live and silent auction, after party, and a full open bar. Tickets to the after party are $75 and include event access at 9:00 p.m. and complimentary drinks.
The Junior League of Tulsa, Inc., is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior League of Tulsa is committed to welcoming all women who value our Mission. We are committed to inclusive environments of diverse individuals, organizations and communities.

The following updates have been made to the site recently:
Lyrics
By request, Pre-Fame albums have been split up into Daydreams in the Night, The Beginnings and Trinity for Christ instead of all being lumped together under The Beginnings
Database
Listings for Lead Singers have been added under the database tab. There are many we have categorized as “Unknown”, if you know who sings lead or think that any of the other listings are incorrect, let us know. Lead singer pages show the tracks from the album by that singer only, as voted for on our twitter poll.
What Songs Have You Heard Live
We received a request to make the listing page more user friendly. While we explore other options for you to add tour listings to your account, we have added links for each year to the top of the page that will quickly jump you to that year to add shows to your checklist.
We received a request to display what percentage of the songs in the database you have heard live. This number is now displayed with your other stats like number of songs heard live and number of unique songs heard live. This is based off all of the songs in the database, not just those performed live.
