ATW + TTA Thoughts

By | July 4, 2021

Last night Hanson played the second concert of their “ATW +” Summer Concert Series, this time featuring their sophomore album This Time Around.  Once again, the album in its entirety was included in the setlist. They also threw in one of the B-sides from the album, Smile.  Magic Carpet Ride, a cover played both on the Albertane Tour in 1998 and This Time Around Tour in 2000 (as well as a few times since) also found its way into the setlist.  All 3 released songs from Against the World were included – Annalie, Don’t Ever Change and Only Love. In addition the band also played their hit single MMMBop as well as throwing in Shout It Out’s Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’ for good measure.  Fans in attendance at Cain’s Ballroom got treated to Crazy Beautiful and Lost Without Each Other as an encore – a bit of a preview for next month’s Underneath show?

August’s shows will feature the bands first independent release – Underneath as well as 2007’s The Walk.  Will the streak of albums played in their entirety continue?  Look for a post in a few weeks where we’ll break down the album stats and see what might make the setlists. Tickets are still available to attend in Tulsa or watch the online stream: https://hanson.net/calendar
