We are now up to our ears in music preparation and pre-production for a new Christmas album. If you’re wondering, yes, it is a little odd singing about snow when the outside temperature in Oklahoma is still in the high 80’s, but
Snowed In was recorded in the UK in the summer of 1998 so it is not our first time around this block. To be fair, an English summer seems so much more pleasant when compared to the sometimes spirit-crushing sunburn factory we inhabit here in the new world. I guess we are just getting a taste for what Christmas must be like down under where Santa Claus gets a cold beer and a slice of watermelon. We have already whittled the potential track list down to 20 songs (when you include original songs) and we still have a lot of hard decisions to make, but it will all be worth it when this
Wintery Mix is finished.
Tonight, we are sharing another behind the scenes stream from the making of Play. It will be more music, more nonsense and a little bit of trivia in there somewhere. Letting members come into the studio and watch the way we make music is a way for us to share a deeper connection to our songs. Knowing where the music came from or the alt lyrics that are only sung between friends is like us giving you a gift that you can never return no matter how hard you try. You’re welcome!
If you are a Hanson.net member, make sure to checkout the HANSON Asks section and answer the Loud Play Vinyl Contest question. Correct answers will be entered for a chance to win a special signed test pressing of the Loud Play Vinyl.
Congratulations to fernandafefe – you are the winner for week 2!
We are looking forward to finally sharing all the music from the Play EP when it comes out in a few weeks. We hope you enjoy the stream!
