Hanson Announce North American tour was a top story for this week. Here it is again: Hanson have announced the first two legs of their North American tour in support of their fifth record, Shout It Out. Hanson are also taking the stage at NYC’s Gramercy Theater every night this week for the 5 of 5 series, where the band will play each of their studio albums in their entirety, capped off with the premiere performance of Shout It Out!
The band are streaming video all week via their channel at LiveStream.com, including each of the 5 of 5 shows, so fans who missed picking up tickets to these sold out shows still have a chance to catch these intimate performances.
The first leg of the Shout It Out Tour begins July 21 with support from Rooney, and covers the east coast, south and midwest. The second leg, featuring A Rocket To The Moon, covers the southwest and west coast and begins September 14.
by partnering with OurStage to host an opening band contest in each market, where local indie artists can compete for the chance to share the stage with the band.
The announcement of the tour follows a whirlwind week of excitement for the band’s debut single, “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin'” which was released to digital outlets Friday in conjunction with the premiere network television performance of the song on the Late Show with David Letterman, and the music video debut on Myspace.
The video, featuring “Weird” Al Yankovic, was viewed over a million times in the first few days of release, and is still rising. The exuberant homage to classic film The Blues Brothers, recreates an iconic scene where the band’s soulful music incites over 300 people to dance in the street.
