The Rolling Stones, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake, Hanson, Dimbleby & Capper, and Savoir Adore make this week’s picks.
The Rolling Stones are releasing a rare track taken from their Exile On Main Street sessions to mark Record Store Day. Listen to Plundered My Soul below.
Producer Timbaland turned Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds album into pure pop gold and the pair return with the hip hop track Carry Out, which is just the right side of sleazy.
Hard to believe it but it was 13 years since Hanson’s MMMBop bothered our charts. Now the boyband are back, more men than boys with the retrotastic pop tune Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’. Time to twist and shout.
Dimbleby & Capper is the alias of 22 year-old singer, producer and remixer Laura Bettinson. She’s already played Glastonbury (on BBC’s introducing stage last year) and dazzled the crowds there with her dark, beat-fuelled melodies.
Savoir Adore are releasing their debut single Bodies on Cantora Records – the New York label which helped launch MGMT. Surely that’s a very good sign? Crammed With tribal drums and synths, Bodies is a great taster of their album In the Wooded Forest.
