CONWAY, S.C. — They’re “MmmBopping” in South Carolina as the pop group Hanson walks a mile barefooted to draw attention to the plight of the poor in Africa and elsewhere.
The band, which shot to stardom with their 1997 hit “MmmBop,” will take their walk at Coastal Carolina University in Conway on Friday.
The one-mile barefoot walk is part of the group’s Use Your Sole tour. The Hanson brothers, now working on their eighth album, say they and their fans have walked almost 25,000 miles.
The band is joined by three other groups – Hellogoodbye, Steel Train and Sherwood – in the walk. All four bands play in North Myrtle Beach later Friday.
