Article: New Hanson Album Has “A Different Energy”

The Hanson brothers have finished recording their new album, as coming in Spring 2010.

The trio’s 8th studio LP is the follow-on from last year’s ‘The Walk’ and was produced entirely by the band themselves, without the aid of any producers.

Hanson are also to self-release the (still untitled) album via their own 3CG label.

Describing the new songs, Taylor told Billboard the music was “just a little more straight-ahead”, before adding: “There’s a different energy to a lot of the music for this new record.”

“I think the last album was sort of, ‘We’re surviving. We’re chugging along.’ This one there’s more of a sense of, ‘We’ve survived. We’ve gotten this far. We’re still in one piece.”

“There’s this sense of, ‘Wow, we’ve been doing this for awhile.’ It’s a little more energetic. There’s a freshness and excitement about it. You’ll hear it in the songs.”

Before the album lands, Hanson are heading out on tour next month (dates are listed here), and also have an EP coming in the form of ‘Stand Up, Stand Up’.
