NEW From The Band
This Week At HANSON HQ there are always many worlds colliding. The action that surrounds new products, planning events/tours/and releases,and of course the world of the band, working on songs and searching for daily inspiration for what creative paths we will follow next. After the passing of our friend Bob Babbitt last week it really has brought into focus how important it is to acknowledge those that have been an inspiration. When you loose icons both behind the scenes like Bob Babbitt, Donald “Duck” Dunn and Alan “Mr Fabulous” Rubin and those that captured the worlds attention like Michael Jackson and Ray Charles (Ray’s been gone almost a decade, wow) the gap that is left is immense. Like losing a family member who always played a silent role that kept the family bound together, their absence is felt in countless ways. Those that make our cultural bonds leave a similar gap, one that is not easily filled. This week, let’s think about inspiration, about songs and ideas that last. NEW From The Band
This Week There are always random things getting created here at HANSON HQ, some of those things are for the future (picture us each rubbing our hands together manaically) but this week we have quite a few things on the site and beyond. We are excited to announce a second members only event in Australia which we decided to do cause we have had so many people rsvp to come to the first event. So, basically Australia is amazing and we hope to see even more of you at the second MOE. There are also several random new things like new photo galleries of pics from the Banditos sessions and some of Tay’s pictures all collected into one place for members. On a somber but musical note, during this last week we also lost a friend and collaborator the legendary Motown bass player Bob Babbitt. Bob was a timeless talent and a real gentleman, and his contribution to music on songs like “War”, “Signed Sealed Delivered” and “Ball Of Confusion” have left a permanent indelible image on popular music. We recommend you all go out and listen to one of those classic tunes and remember the man and the music. We hope you have a great week! Best -Isaac,Taylor and Zac |

Couchsurfers and Hanson at Summerfest
Summer is undeniably Milwaukee’s most musical time of the year, with ethnic festivals on the weekends, the parks’ music series on the weeknights, and of course, Summerfest. I met up with some traveling Couchsurfers here from NYC and Germany, all of them first-timers to this city and the world’s largest music festival. While I couldn’t attend the fest with them, I offered some staple advice beforehand – be prepared to stand on the bleachers at the free stages, get a Saz’s sampler, and don’t stack your empty beer cups. They had different personalities, tastes in music, and budgets. But they all shared two common observations afterwards: Milwaukee is fun, and Milwaukee is loud.
Indeed.
I feel comfortable calling myself a veteran of Summerfest, and even more comfortable calling myself a veteran of Hanson concerts. I’ve gone to Summerfest every summer since I can remember, and I’ve been to over 40 Hanson concerts in 15 years. That said, Hanson’s show at Summerfest was one of their best performances ever.
The band was on fire. People showed up, packed in, and screamed for an hour and a half. Some were people curious about “that band that sang MMMbop”, and others were diehard fans with tattooed Hanson lyrics and faded autographed shirts. Hanson responded to the crowd with flawless harmonies and seamless transitions between full-band rock and intimate acoustic. Of all the shows I’ve seen over the years at Summerfest, I’ve never felt the energy of a crowd quite like this one, nor have I felt so utterly trapped between bodies. To quote reviewer Piet Levy, “Someone at Summerfest seriously underestimated the size of the Hanson fan base”.
My friends and I left the show with ears ringing and covered in the sweat of other people. And as we excitedly recapped our favorite Hanson moments of the night and past Summerfest experiences, while walking past street performers and surrounded by thousands of other exiting patrons, two thoughts entered my mind: Milwaukee is fun, and Milwaukee is loud.

This week, there is a lot to share, some pics from Summerfest, and some snaps from the new 3CG studios, plus a lot of new content coming down the pike It is hard to believe, but we are already half way thought 2012. wow. It has been a more quiet spring and early summer, but like we mentioned last week, we have been busy. We are working on songs,and plotting world domination…but you knew that, right :o) One of the things we are pumped to share with members starting next week is some blogs about the making of each of the No Sleep For Bandito’s songs. We put together a cool video for each song that shows how they came together, and some of the strangeness that comes with a nocturnal EP. It’s been a couple months since HANSON DAY but we are also going to be posting a new vid blog about all the stuff that went on during that weekend, we hope you like that. Beyond all the new stuff on Hnet we have been giving a lot of thought to new songs, and looking for inspiration. Check out a few random pics from our one off trip up to Milwaukee to do Summerfest last weekend, which was a GREAT show. Also some snaps from inside the new 3CG studio’s last week.
