New Feature – Numbered Shows!

By | June 14, 2023

This new feature was on our to do list for quite some time and when it landed in our suggestion box recently we decided to take the time to put it in place!   On your show counts page as well as your public profile your shows are now numbered making it easier to see which of your shows were milestone shows!  If you have your shows adjusted for Disney, Members Only Events or Back to the Island solos, the numbering should be modified accordingly.

Can be found at Members > Show Counts & Stats (once logged in)  or on all public account pages as linked from setlist pages.

As always with new features there is the possibility that there will be glitches. If anything doesn’t seem right with your account please contact blog@hansonstage.com. Include your username, what page isn’t working and what device / web browser you are using.  Screen shots are a plus! We will do what we can to troubleshoot and correct it for you.

The Hanson Hour Podcast – Episode 11

By | June 13, 2023

Yay! A very self indulgent episode ahead.

This week we have Emily drop in. Emily is from Newcastle, Australia and is an OG fan from ’97. In this episode we get deep into our early teen years, remembering what it was like to be a Hanson fan back in the day.

We share stories about early shows, magazines, radio stations and TV Spots – (hello Recovery, Ugly Phil, Video Hits and TV Hits Magazine!)

Emily has also travelled to Back to the Island and Hanson Day and this past RGB Tour saw her camp out to secure the spots in front of the stage that bring joy into her life. And hey, that’s what it’s all about! 🙂  You can hear Emily chat about her experiences in this episode.

And oh yeah, we are up to unpacking “Look at You” – but I’ll be honest, we both don’t rate this song and thus it was barely up for discussion.

Albertane Tour 25th Anniversary

By | June 10, 2023

Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of the kick off of Hanson’s first world tour – The Albertane Tour.  We are looking to put a little something together for the anniversary and need your help!  If you have any photos, memories or anything else to share about this tour – please send it to blog@hansonstage.com.  We know concert photos will probably not be the best as sneaking in disposable cameras was generally the most we could get away with – but you and your friends before/after the show, the marquees, outside the venue, etc are all appreciated!

If you didn’t attend a concert but still want to contribute, we’re also looking for some short articles (or even if you did attend and want to contribute more!) some topics include:

Live from Albertane
Ever Lonely
Good Lovin
Livin’ on Tulsa Time
Magic Carpet Ride
Gimme Some Lovin
Shake a Tailfeather
Summertime Blues
Sunshine of Your Love
Money

or pick your own 1998-eque topic!

We are looking to have this finished to release September 30th, the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of the tour so if you could get anything you’d like to share to us ASAP but no later than August 14, 2023 it would be most appreciated!

If you have any questions about this project – contact us blog@hansonstage.com

Hanson collaborates with Busted to release ‘MmmBop 2.0’ and it’s exactly what you think it is — listen here

By | June 7, 2023

Today

“MMMBop” has an updated version for a new generation.

Back in 1997, Hanson dropped the catchy pop song, paving the way for the late ‘90s pop era. Fast-forward 26 years later and brothers Taylor, Isaac and Zac Hanson teamed up with English pop-punk band Busted to deliver “MMMBop 2.0.” The result is an equally catchy and body rocking track.

“We’re stoked you are enjoying MMMBop 2.0 with @busted. Some things never change … except for the key we play it in!” Hanson captioned a clip comparing both versions on their Instagram on June 5.

Hanson and Busted singers take turns harmonizing and giving the verses some new edge. The latest version is described by the bands as “a new burst of pop-punk punchiness,” per the press release.

“It’s been a thrill to reimagine ‘MMMBop’ with Busted and to see how a song with such history comes to life in a new way,” Taylor Hanson said in a statement when the song was released. “This is a true fusion of Hanson and Busted, we can’t wait to share it.”

James Bourne of Busted added, “It’s been such an honor to sing this 90’s classic song with the band who made it 25 years on from original release! To have them as special guests on tour with us in September will be really special too, we’re huge fans of Hanson!”

Hanson will be joining Busted — consisting of Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson — on their upcoming U.K. and Ireland tour, kicking off in September.

“MMMBop” was Hanson’s lead single from their 1997 debut studio album, “Middle of Nowhere.” After becoming a massive hit and reaching No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, it was nominated for two Grammy awards. The trio released their latest album, “Red Green Blue” in May 2022.

The Hanson Hour Podcast Season 1- Episode 10- Scott Hogan

By | June 6, 2023

Nothing says MON era like Tulsa Tokyo and The Middle of Nowhere, The Albertane Tour, Promo including TV spots and Jack Frost Soundtracks! And this week’s guest, Scott Hogan, was there for all of it.

I loved talking with Scott about his memories of this era. Noteable discussions were how he got the gig and a fun set up he did with a roadie named Romeo – which landed Taylor and Zac their wives. The reasoning behind this set up also struck a chord – as we continue to unpack this era, we see more and more that the reality and lens which we were viewing this era as fans was very different behind the scenes.

I hope you enjoy!

Martial Simon Revives 90s Classic For New Hit “MMMBop”

“MMMBop” by Hanson was one of the biggest songs of the 90s. Martial Simon, one of toady’s brightest star’s in music, samples the classic for his hot new song also titled “MMMBop.” Starting with a blissful piano melody, energized female vocal, unique house-fueled sound design, and now you have a new age classic. On the new track, the New York-based recording artist reinvents the pop classic with his own signature sound, and comes perfectly with the emerging summer sound.

“Summertime and sunshine mixed with a little MMMBop for the win! I couldn’t wait to remake this classic with a female vocalist, and.just in time for a beach or pool party,” Simon says.

Following up Martial’s recent dance track, “That’s The Way It Is”, these two songs expand Martial’s catalog to new territory. Typically releasing more tech house heaters, “MMMBop” is a nice change of pace for Martial, who showcases his versatile production skill set throughout. Be on the lookout for Martial, as he is sure to deliver more euphoric anthems in the months to come.

Did Hanson Just Mess Around And Drop The Song Of The Summer With MMMBop 2.0? Yes, Yes They Did.

By | June 3, 2023

Barstool Sports

Yes, yes they did. Hanson and Busted just came out of nowhere to drop MMMBop 2.0 right in our faces as summer starts and thank god they did because this song is even better the second time around.

You don’t understand the chokehold that Hanson and MMMBop had on this country in 1997. It was a mega, mega hit. The song still hits today too, you throw this on at a bar on a Saturday afternoon or a party? Place will explode. The original is still so good, if you haven’t listened to it in a while just throw it on, guarantee your foot will be bopping up and down. This song was so good back in the day that even the kids who were too cool for everything thought it was a good song.

But Busted and Hanson giving us this reimaged version, the 2.0 version comes at the perfect time. They just threw their hat into the running for song of the summer and I am here for it. If you’re one of these kids who grew up in the ’90s this will land right in your q zone. It’s the perfect mix of new age with a ton of nostalgia. We’re all about nostalgia if you haven’t noticed. If you bring back anything from the late ’80s or ’90s we will eat that shit up. This is no different. Throw this new version on at whatever event you’re at this week and I promise you the vibes will shoot through the roof. It’s been added to every playlist I have and I will be playing this until the cows come home. Thank god these guys have a brain and decided to put this out, it’s just what us olds need. Love this era that we’re in now with all the bands we grew up with rereleasing their stuff again, nothing but bangers.
