Taylor Hanson paid a visit to The Church Studio — Leon Russell turf — on what would have been Russell’s 82nd birthday.
Russell was born April 2, 1942.
On April 2, 2024, Hanson popped in at The Church Studio and spoke about an upcoming event that will pay tribute to the late Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s legacy. Russell’s former touring band will perform April 26 at Tulsa Theater. The concert will build on a long tradition of Russell birthday shows (which he hosted for many years) in his hometown. Taylor and Isaac Hanson of Hanson will be among guest artists at the show.
“I am so grateful to the band for keeping the legacy of Leon alive with this great concert tradition,” Taylor Hanson said in a news release announcing his participation. “I have many personal memories of joining Leon for his birthday concerts, and I’m so proud to have been able to share in his rock and roll history.”
