Depending on how closely you’ve been following ’90s pop icons Hanson, you might not know that the brothers never really stopped making music. In fact, they released their sixth studio album in 2013 called Anthem, which charted at No. 22 on the Billboard 200. That same year, they also launched their own craft beer, named “Mmmhops” after their infectious 1997 hit “MmmBop” in partnership with craft beer company Mustang Brewing. Now they are bringing their two passions together for the second annual Hop Jam Craft Beer and Music Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 17 in the Brady Arts District. The band even played a role in founding the event.

Hanson will headline the all-ages, free music festival, which also features performances from The Polyphonic Spree, Black Joe Lewis, Jamestown Revival,Horse Thief, and a TBA contest winner.

According to a local Fox News affiliate, the Hop Jam broke attendance records last year, making it the largest attended craft beer event in Oklahoma, with 13 brewers present from across the state. Because of the great response, the organizers have expanded this year’s offerings, increasing to 30 brewers. Tickets for beer tastings are now available for purchase.

If you’re curious what Mmmhops tastes like, Taylor Hanson described it as “full-bodied pale ale” with “a touch of roasted quality to it. It’s almost nutty” adding that “it’s got a good hoppy flavor – but not too crazy.”

“We wanted it to be the type of beer that you’ll enjoy if you don’t think you’re into craft beers,” he told Food & Wine in 2013. “It’s very drinkable. People will try it first because they’ll be like, ‘OK, I have to try Hanson’s beer, this is ridiculous.’ And then they’ll be like, ‘This is actually really good.'”
