Saturday Isaac and Taylor will be participating in a panel at SXSW in Austin, TX entitled “Content is CEO”, the panel will take place Saturday March 21 from 2:00-3:00PM in the Austin Convention Center Room 15.
In this new world of evolving music release models with direct access to fans through web and social media and diminished control of promotion and distribution by traditional partners (Record Labels/TV/Print/Radio) the Content is CEO panel focuses on the shift toward more content creators (artists) owning their copyrights, running their own business and cultivating their brand successfully as entrepreneurs, as one of the trends representing a portion of the new music and entertainment industry.
The panel features several different types of artists who have approached claiming control of their business and career differently, and also engages industry professionals with experience in the evolving industry to reflect on the pro’s and cons of content creators at the helm of their business and brand, and what this model represents to the industry at large as the rules are rewritten on commercial success, cultural relevance and career longevity.
