Hi everyone,
I’m so amped about my first-ever ‘Band-Aid Bar’ post today, featuring two of my favs: Hanson and Harvard & Stone! Check it out…

SPOTTED: Taylor Hanson at Harvard & Stone for guest DJ set by Elijah Wood.

First, let’s talk Hanson . In case you aren’t already aware (and you missed their performance onDWTS a few weeks back!), yes, the MmmBoppin’ bros are all grown up and still making music together. It was such a treat having them play as the house band for our ‘Guilty Pleasures’ show—since they are still definitely one of mine! And while Taylor, Issac and Zac, may all be married with multiple kids (yes, that’s plural for all of them!), their recently released album Shout It Out is proof that these brothers have zero intention of slowing down! Check out the fun music video for their single “Give a Little” below:

Next up, Harvard & Stone. This swanky bar took over the old Stone Bar space on the corner of Harvard and Hollywood back in February (clever names, huh?). I love the exposed brick walls, bare lightbulbs, and dim lighting that make up this laid-back, sexy space. The smaller bar in back is also a nice touch—offering themed drinks made with a different featured spirit every month (last I checked, it was tequilla!).
This Los Feliz neighborhood joint also features impromptu LIVE music and is known for keeping a house guitar and drum kit on hand for when musical acts are in town and want to play. These “secret shows” happen often, much like the surprise guest DJ sets (p.s. Elijah Wood is an amazing DJ!). But you won’t find the shows advertised on the bar’s website or anywhere else for that matter—it’s more of a word of mouth deal.
So head to the Harvard & Stone in East Los Angeles for delicious drinks, great music, a good-looking neighborhood crowd, and the chance of running into YOUR favorite band (even if it is a crapshoot as to when!). : )
Harvard & Stone: 5221 Hollywood Blvd.
Peace, Love and Sparkles,
Chelsea
