Lifelong Tulsan, Taylor Hanson, creates Food on the Move to bring meals to those in need
KJRH
Food trucks parked in front a local community college this week to pass out meals for those in need.
Tulsa Community College hosted local musician Taylor Hanson’s project, Food on the Move, Wednesday. The event brought food for those in need at the Northeast Campus of TCC.
Students and neighbors in the area could buy tickets for a meal, or get one for free. They also had the option to load up on fresh veggies.
“We end up purchasing food that we distribute so for this thousand dollars – we will be able to provide 4,000 meals. It goes a long way,” said Hanson.
This event was the first in a series of Food on the Move events set for Tulsa.

Ed Sheeran vs. Hanson: Who Covers Christina Aguilera’s ‘Dirrty’ Better?

Because the world is a beautiful, beautiful place, both Ed Sheeran and Hanson have covered Christina Aguilera‘s “Dirrty.” In one of the legitimately toughest readers polls this PopCrush editor has ever had to write, we have to ask: Whose cover do you like better?
How do we love Ed Sheeran’s cover of “Dirrty”? Let us count the ways. First of all, is there anything better than a cover track that not only showcases Ed’s ability to completely transform music, but also flaunts his versatility? No, no there is not. The ginger crooner killed it on the acoustic guitar while his vocals were pretty much out of this world — as to be expected from him, of course. And then, when he took over Redman’s rap in a dizzying display of sheer talent, we totally lost it. Slay, Ed Sheeran. Slay. Watch Ed Sheeran’s cover in the video below.
Hanson covered Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty” way back during their Underneath Acoustic tour in 2003, but let this fan tell you that it has stood the test of time and is a serious favorite, even 12 years later. The guys infuse the performance with a super sultry vibe, giving the track a seriously steamy feel. From Isaac growling “six in the morning,” to Zac’s soulful singing and a touch of Taylor falsetto, Hanson’s cover of “Dirrty” is pretty much everything we have ever wanted. Of course, our fave part of the cover is the band’s harmonies at the end, which really give it that trademark Hanson sound. Listen to the band’s cover below.

Hear It First: Blues Traveler Introduces ‘Castaway’
Famed jam band Blues Traveler has a new album, Blow Up The Moon, coming out on April 7, and it’s filled with an eclectic mix of songwriters influenced by the bands remarkable two-decade-plus career. Blow Up The Moon features collaborating artists Thompson Square, Plain White T’s, 3OH!3, Hanson, Jewel, Secondhand Serenade, Dirty Heads & Rome Ramirez (Sublime), JC Chasez (*NSYNC), Bowling for Soup, New Hollow and Thomas Ian Nicholas.
Yahoo Music is thrilled to premiere the first track from the set, “Castaway,” which features the Dirty Heads & Rome Ramirez.

“This entire project was an ambitious one,” notes frontman John Popper of the new set. “To write and record with so many differently talented entities — each w/such dear and unique gifts — was more than a challenge for us, It was a year-long clinic on how to explore such gifts in a vast cadre of others, as well as in ourselves.”
Meanwhile, Ramirez has this to say of his contribution: “Working with Blues Traveler and Dirty Heads was a rad time. Both bands are very talented and I learned a lot working with seasoned pros,” while Jared “Dirty J” Watson adds: ”It was a really laid back session. It felt very comfortable. All the dudes made us feel at home and we got along really well, so it made it easier for the creative process to flow. The coolest part for me was being able to put our twist on such a recognizable sound as Blues Traveler’s.”
