3 new pages added

By | July 7, 2019

3 new pages have been added to the site and drop down menus.

The Tour Dates & Setlist tab now has a “Tour History” page which includes tidbits on each of the band’s tours – as well as what songs were first performed live on those tours, covers and unreleased tracks performed.  If you know of anything missing that should be included, please be sure to let us know.

The lyrics tab now has a “Search” page.  While this page has always been around, it has been hiding and this more prominent location will now make it easier for you to search for Hanson lyrics based on words or phrases.

The Database > Shows By Location tab now includes “Asia“, while we unfortunately do not have a fun map for this location, we do have our fingers crossed for more dates in Asia on the “comprehensive world tour” in 2020.  If you notice any countries that should be included on this list – be sure to let us know so we can get them added!

HANSON: Celebrate Independence!

By | July 5, 2019

WEEKLY PIC

This week, we leaped into US Independence Day and shared our third video featuring music from the In Real Life Hanson.net EP. This week features the song “The Ballad of Seymour Better Times”.  Get the full music and vids when you join Hanson.net

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

Happy Independence Day! Yesterday, we celebrated our country with close friends and good food, and general tomfoolery, and despite our best efforts all eyes, ears, fingers and toes are still attached and accounted for. Forming 3CG Records and going Independent in 2003 was a defining moment in the HANSON story, changing the way we look at our music and our business forever. Yesterday we got to thinking, I bet not every country has a national holiday to celebrate the United States declaring independence from England and King George III. We have heard that a party is good, but a big party is better, so come 2020 and beyond we invite all non American Citizens to join the July 4th celebration and simply celebrate HANSON’s Independence! Americans proceed per usual.

This is week three of our Real to Reel video series exploring the songs that make up our In Real Life EP. We have been through “Compromise” and “Worth the Wait” so now it’s time for a listen and look at “The Ballad of Seymour Better Timers”.  Part Robin Hood and Little John part Rocky Raccoon and all story Seymour is a colorful romp through the playful and somewhat tragic choices of a man in search of something better. Enjoy.

By | July 1, 2019

WEEKLY PIC

This week, we are rolling out our second video in the series of our ongoing roll out of content from our In Real Life Hanson.net EP. Check out the content on Hanson.net and our Real to Reel interview series on YouTube!

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

Big thank you to everyone who joined us in Milwaukee for Summerfest! Maybe it’s because of the connection to Albertane, maybe not, but we always have a great time in in Mil-eh-wak-eh… Which is Algonquin for the good land!

This week, we are sharing our second episode in a new video series called “Real to Reel” featuring the song “Worth the Wait” from of our 2019 Members EP, “In Real Life”.  Every year, the Members EP’s continue to stake their claim in the HANSON musical universe as they become a bigger and bigger part of our musical catalog. We are excited to bring all of you with us as we talk about what’s behind the songs we created for “In Real Life”.

On the theme of new for the first time ever, we have created a music video focused not on a song but on a whole project. Part Narrative, part fly on the wall, it is a five-part companion for the five song “In Real Life” EP that shares the spirit of how we make our music, and touches on how we live.

If you enjoy the videos, look for a new Real to Reel episode next Friday, and for HNet members part three of the “In Real Life” music video.

‘They make us feel young:’ 50 in line at Summerfest score passes for Hanson’s intimate acoustic set

MILWAUKEE — It was a mad rush to get through the gates as Summerfest 2019 began on Wednesday, June 26. Some fans really couldn’t wait to get in.

“I didn’t know there were lines waiting to get in,” said Cassie Duck.

Cassie Duck was among the fans in long lines, eager to get the party started.

“I’ve never been at this time before. I’ve always been on the weekends, later at night,” Duck said.

Greeting guests at the gate were people like Noah Fusco, who moved to Milwaukee a month ago.

“This is a giant puppet strapped to my back,” said Fusco.

After responding to an online ad looking for puppeteers, Fusco was one-half of a giant Samba puppet duo, proving anything is possible at the Big Gig!

Rachael Ricci left Appleton at 8 a.m. on Wednesday with her friend, Tara Pigeon, to score a special pass to see the band Hanson.

“They make us feel young again. It brings back a lot of memories,” said Pigeon.

The first 50 people in got a pass to see the trio in an intimate, acoustic concert on the American Family Insurance stage. Ricci and Pigeon got the last two tickets. They planned to be “MMMBop”-ing all night.

Bernie Unold argued she’s the biggest groupie at the Big Gig.

“My son plays every year,” said Unold.

Unold’s son, Chad, is the drummer for the Waukesha-based band “Northern Haunts.” She said she never misses a show.

“I’m going to go crazy over there,” said Unold.

Summerfest 2019: Steve Aoki, Hanson and the best and the worst on the side stages on opening day

By | June 27, 2019

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Summerfest 2019 started with some old friends, shiny visuals and technical difficulties. Here’s what we heard on the festival’s ground stages Wednesday night.

Hanson

Trivia question: What is Hanson’s most recent release?

Give up? It’s called … “MMMBop.” That’s right, a four-track EP of remixes of the only song you know by the late-’90s adolescent heartthrobs, compiled just this year. Not that they’ve been idle all this time, but it does all boil down, doesn’t it?

Brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac have held fast to a pact: Their selves must forever be this. No matter what more reputable or lucrative avenues may be available to three so talented, photogenic lads, they’ll be Hanson forever.

The crowd at the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage was modest but mighty, unabashed, emanating joy. For 90 minutes, in 2019, irony did not exist. Such is the magic and/or tragedy of Summerfest.

Hanson dan Michael Learns to Rock Ramaikan The 90’s Festival 2019

By | June 19, 2019

Medcom (Translated using Google Translate)

Jakarta: Lovers of nostalgic nuances are again spoiled with The 90’s Festival. The fifth year of the 90’s Festival title again presents old international musicians who are popular in the era of Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) and Hanson brothers.

In the line up of local musicians there is Jamrud, Sheila on 7, Gigi, Portrait, Type-X, Element Reunion, M.E., Chameleon, Dr. PM, and Vina Panduwinata. The Tofu Band fronted by Uya Kuya, Fla, and Anton also gathered to bring the mainstay hits. Likewise with Wong Band, a Bandung-based music group that reunited after 17 years of vacuum.

This year’s Special The 90’s Festival is held for two days on 23 and 24 November 2019 at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

“We see from year to year the enthusiasm of The 90’s Festival is very lively. We also consider the convenience of visitors. Finally, we decide this event will be held for two days,” said Entertainment Acceleration Promoter, Arinda Mentari Putri in South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

The 90’s Festival tickets are divided into four categories, namely the Daily Pass of Rp520 thousand, 2-Day Pass of Rp720 thousand. For Presale 1 Superfestival – Daily Pass tickets Rp1.3 million and 2-Days Pass Rp1.8 million.

Purchase tickets for The 90’s Festival can be accessed through Traveloka and the official website www.the90sfestival.com starting June 21, 2019 at 15.00 WIB.

HANSON: New Music Video Next Week

By | June 15, 2019

WEEKLY PIC

In a late night change session we officially cast the HANSON Bio pic. Patrick Swayze (circa Red Dawn) as Zac, Stephen Baldwin (circa Usual Suspects) as Isaac, and Leonardo DiCaprio (circa The Revenant) as Taylor.  Who would you cast?

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND

The past ten years have seen a massive transformation in the way we look at our music, and by extension the way we look at the annual Hanson.net EP’s. What once seemed like something extra for hardcore fans now feels more and more essential to the HANSON catalog, and no project made that clearer than when we sat down to pick songs for String Theory. Joyful Noise,  Siren Call, No Rest for The Weary, The Sound of Light (just to name a few) were essential in telling the story of String Theory, and all of them were originally released on Hanson.net EP’s.

With the 2019 members EP, “In Real Life,” we are excited to share more than ever before about why we continue to make the EP’s the way we do, giving them themes and writing and recording under so much pressure. Starting next Friday the 21st, we will begin posting a series of videos highlighting each song on the “In Real Life” EP with our first being “Compromise” posted both on YouTube and Hanson.net.  In addition we will also be sharing the first in a five piece narrative video created for the EP.  Part fly on the wall and part music video, but all in the  pursuit of sharing what’s real, even when the music can be surreal.

If you enjoy the videos, then we have good news, there’s a lot more coming. Over the next month, there will be a new interview in our series and a new music video for Hanson.net every Friday. We hope everyone is enjoying this new music and we can’t wait to share what else we are working on.
