The late 1990s pop hit, “MMMBop,” by Hanson, introduced the world to the talented Hanson brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The upbeat track skyrocketed to global popularity, making the trio overnight sensations. Taylor Hanson, the band’s keyboardist and vocalist, celebrated his 43rd birthday on a recent Saturday.

In 1992, brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac formed the rock band Hanson, which has since sold over 16 million records and achieved three top 20 albums in the United States. With three top 20 US Hot 100 singles and eight UK top 40 singles, the band now records under their own label, 3CG Records.

Hanson is best known for their hit song “MMMBop” from their debut album, “Middle of Nowhere,” released through Mercury/Polygram Records. The success of the song and album earned the band three Grammy nominations, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, at the 40th Grammy Awards in 1998.

Taylor Hanson, born on March 14, 1983, in Jenks, Oklahoma, is the second of seven children of Clarke Walker Hanson and Diana Frances. Aside from Hanson, Taylor is also part of the band Tinted Windows, formed with former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, and Fountains of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger.

On Instagram, Hanson dedicated a birthday post to Taylor, celebrating his 43rd year and sharing a video interview from 2012. Despite their long-standing career, Hanson continues to tour actively and release music through their independent label, having released 11 studio albums, with the latest being “Red Green Blue” in 2022.

In recent news, Hanson announced the restructuring of their fan club, ending paid Hanson.net memberships after 25 years. The website will now serve as a free, public-facing news and information site for the group, marking a new chapter for their online presence.

As Hanson’s enduring legacy continues, their music and influence in the industry remain strong, reflecting a journey of success and evolution for the talented brothers from Tulsa.
