Give Jamaica Love

By | November 22, 2025

We’re not going to Jamaica in 2026… but the island still needs our love

While we may not be packing our sunscreen and debating which swimsuit makes the best outfit, something much more serious has happened on the island we’ve called “home” so many Januaries.

Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica hard, and as a result, the resort that Island Gigs uses for its events will remain closed until September 2026 for repairs and renovations. Their events are postponed, and the local community is facing a long, difficult recovery.

So even though we aren’t heading back to Jamaica this year, many of the people who’ve welcomed us so warmly in the past — staff, families, local businesses, schools — are now navigating rebuilding and restoration.

If you’d like to help support that recovery, please consider donating to:

🌴 The Rockhouse Foundation Relief
🇯🇲 The American Friends of Jamaica

Both organizations are doing meaningful, impactful work on the ground.

We may not be returning to the island in 2026, but the island has given us so much — and this is a chance to give a little something back. 💛🌊
