Hanson shot to fame with their hit single MmmBop – but the singing trio are now virtually unrecognisable as they’ve ditched their long blonde hair and become dads

Back in the 1990s, boy band Hanson had legions of fans screaming at their tour bus, loitering outside hotels and collecting magazine posters, catapulting them to heartthrob status and superstardom.
It’s been nearly 30 years since the three brothers’ global number one hit single MmmBop, a time when fans were flocking to Claire’s Accessories for the latest hair scrunchies and discussing the newest Neighbours plotline. Yet they’re still residing in their peaceful hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. American singers Isaac, now 44, Taylor, 42 and Zac, 39, released the incredibly catchy hit in 1997 and their lives transformed overnight.
With long blonde hair, innocent smiles and an ambition to be the next big thing, fans watched as they featured on 90s TV classics like Top of the Pops and CD:UK with Ant and Dec, singing about ‘getting old’ and ‘losing their hair’ in the song which is ironic, because that’s exactly what has happened. Just not as dramatically as their teen hit might have suggested.
The trio have aged gracefully and fans adore their new mature style. When Hanson appeared on This Morning in 2022, the long highlighted blonde locks were gone, replaced by darker, shorter looks, complete with rugged beards, tans and a much more fashionable wardrobe. The brothers also made a hilarious appearance on America’s The Masked Singer, performing as Russian Dolls. And last year Hanson celebrated 30 years of American clothing brand Old Navy in New York, once again showing off their new look.
Despite their dashing transformations, the lads – who began their journey at the tender ages of 16, 14 and 11, creating musical magic alongside other nostalgic favourites like B*Witched’s C’est La Vie and The Backstreet Boys’ Quit Playin’ Games – are still in the music game.
The brothers dropped a new album, Underneath: Complete back in October last year and continue to play around the world. Yet, they still eschew the glitz and glamour of Hollywood or New York, preferring their humble hometown in Oklahoma – likely the secret behind their grounded success and blissful marriages.
Their home base also comes in handy considering all three now have large families of their own, with an astonishing total of 15 children between them.
Isaac, the eldest, was the last to tie the knot in 2006 with Nicole Dufresne. The couple share three children: sons Everett and Monroe and a daughter, Odette.
Middle brother Taylor has been married to his wife Natalie Bryant since 2002 and is father to sons Ezra, River, Viggo, and Indiana, plus daughters Penelope, Wilhelmina and Maybellene.
Lastly, the youngest brother Zac and his wife Kate Tucker, who tied the knot in 2006 just before his brother Isaac, expanded their brood to five during lockdown. They are parents to sons Shepherd, Abraham and Quincy, as well as daughters Junia and Lucille.
Hanson still have a huge following on social media, with more than half a million fans interested in their antics on Instagram. Their most recent post is a throwback pic of the band performing at a festival called Eat to the Beat, taken at Disney World in 2014. It’s accompanied by a caption promising another show at the same event: “Our longstanding tradition of returning to the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot @waltdisneyworld, continues this week. We’ve been on a lot of rides, hope you will join us for our musical stay in the most magical place on earth.”
