TULSA – At a Happy Hour hosted by Cabin Boys Brewery on Friday afternoon, musical artist Taylor Hanson announced to fans that FC Tulsa’s new cerveza will be named “FC Tulsa 918 Cerveza.”
The announcement wraps up a month of fan input into the name of the brew with fans initially submitting over 100 names before a vote of three finalists occured over the last week. “918 Cerveza” accrued over 75% of the votes to win the balloting.
“We love our fans and we were so excited to give them an FC Tulsa beer to drink proudly at our matches,” said FC Tulsa president James Cannon. “They selected a fantastic name that showcases the pride we have in our community. 918 Cerveza will be available at all future FC Tulsa matches.”
Taylor Hanson, of the band Hanson and founder of FC Tulsa community partner Food on the Move, made the announcement official to fans at Cabin Boys Brewery.
“This is a name that is going to stick,” said Hanson. “I can’t wait to enjoy it at some FC Tulsa games.”
FC Tulsa will be back at home on Saturday, July 10 for a 3 p.m. kickoff at ONEOK Field against Louisville City FC. Tickets to the match are available now at fctulsa.com/tickets.
