More than 1,000 families received free food during a Food On The Move event days before Christmas, when it’s needed most.

It’s a weekly drive-thru handout, but this year, the need is so great and many families are in line for the first time ever.

Folks drove up and received a box of food, hot dinner, and free concert.

Hanson frontman and Food on the Move Founder Taylor Hanson serenaded the cars in line.

The nonprofit gives away food every Tuesday, but this is a special night, right before Christmas and in the middle of a pandemic.

Like Justin Peterson, jobless throughout this pandemic, and Amanda Weir, a single mom, now able to put some extra food on the table.

All experiencing tough times, but benefiting from the giving spirit in Tulsa.

During the pandemic, Food On The Move has provided more than 3 million pounds of produce to Tulsa families.
