Tonight we are in New York City for the first of two shows at Irving Plaza. NYC has always been a great place for us to play. Last time we were playing at Irving Plaza was the night we recorded ANTHEM Live In New York, before that was one of the first shows for The Walk album with a choir and everything. It would be a lie if I didn’t say there is a little extra excitement about playing here for a sold-out crowd, history also adds an intoxicating context to a place, a confidence that seeps into the day and lends swagger to the stage. This is city number Four of the RNR tour and if the trend continues things are on the up and up. Each concert has felt more at ease and each city has a freshness that comes with not touring for two year, you feel like you’re back home, where you belong.
