To celebrate the 16th anniversary of MMMbop, Isaac, Taylor and Zac, AKA Hanson, are back with a new album!

Isaac, Taylor and Zac, AKA Hanson, are back! The brothers, who hail from Tulsa, Oklahoma, shot to fame back in 1997 when their debut UK single, MMMbop, topped the Official Singles Chart while they were aged just 15, 14 and 10 years old, respectively. It was one of the biggest selling singles of 1997, and to date, it has sold over 750,000 copies in the UK alone.

Despite having their biggest hit 16 years ago, Hanson are far from one hit wonders. The trio went on to clock up seven more Top 40 singles and three Top 40 albums.

OfficialCharts.com caught up with them while they were in the UK earlier this week to promote their new album,Anthem.

“Our new album, Anthem just came out in the UK,” explains Taylor. “It’s our sixth album, if you haven’t been counting; there are five others, which you should check them all out too!

Taylor describes their new album as “a rockin’ record” which opens with a heavy, “guitar driven kinda AC/DC song.” However, it is still awash with those same Motown-inspired melodies that made fans fall in love with them in the first place.

“We’ve always been a band that loves melody and creating songs that are danceable,” says Taylor. “We wanna get inside your head!”

While most acts will nod politely and try to change the subject when you quiz them about certain hits from their past,Hanson seem genuinely excited about MMMbop is celebrating its sixteenth birthday this year.

“It’s pretty epic to think that now, if we were in the US, that song would be old enough to drive!” grins Taylor. “That’s a crazy thought. I would never let MMMbop drive my car, though.”
