Janet Devlin’s guilty pleasures song choice was a peculiar one and we have to admit, we were a little worried for the talented teen when we heard she would be singing MMMBop by Hanson on this evening’s quarter final live show.

Earlier this evening, she confessed that she was very nervous about performing twice tonight and told ITV.com:

I’m really nervous about tonight’s performance, it’s two songs and I’ve been trying to practice as much as I can but it’s been hard.

She added:

There’s a lot of pressure this week now that there is only five people left. Next week is the semi final and I definitely want to be there.

Janet emerged onto stage tonight wearing a sparkly black fitted dress and looking actually quite sophisticated.

She bopped and danced while singing and we loved the energy she displayed, which we never normally see from the 17 year old.

It was all going really well – well we thought so anyway – until Janet forgot her words…..again! She did the same thing a few weeks ago during a performance and though she recovered well tonight we think this could really harm her chances this week.

Bottom two tomorrow? Quite possibly. Maybe Kelly shouldn’t have disappeared to Paris this week and should have dedicated a bit more time to mentoring her girls instead!

LOUIS WALSH: Janet did you forget the words? You messed up but at least you carried on that was the right thing to do. It wasn’t a great performance or song but I believe in you.

TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS: Janet you look really upset, you know the mistakes you made and I think the nerves took over. I have to agree with Louis, I found it quite mediocre for this stage of the competition.

GARY BARLOW: Janet it was a real mess, for the second time you’ve forgotten your words and I do think that it had a percussive nature to it, it needed a groove and you don’t have a groove in your voice. You shouldn’t be singing songs like that.

KELLY ROWLAND: There is always a second song. You are a fighter and that’s why you’ve come so far in this competition.
