My First Hanson Concert: Shout It Out Tour

Name: Bethany
Which Tour: Shout It Out Tour
Date: 8/2/10
City/State: Louisville, KY

I Went with: By myself, but I met up with several of my online friends from around the state.

I expected the show to: be the most amazing thing ever? Honestly, I had no idea what to expect. I’ve never been to a lot of concerts because they just aren’t really my thing, so I was afraid I’d not enjoy it at all, because of the crowd and stuff.

We waited in line for this long: Not very long. I got there around 1pm and met up with my friend Renee for the walk at 2pm, then had lunch and waiting maybe 30min for an in-store thing that technically was my first concert. I got lost driving around and got back to the venue just before the first opening act went on, so I didn’t stand in line very long then either.

My favorite song they did was: Oh Darling. My favorite cover that they do. Runner up is This Time Around, which would have been my favorite if it had been electric but it didn’t blow my mind as much acoustically.

A funny thing that happened during the show was: Basically everything that came out of my friend Lacy’s mouth. I can’t even narrow it down to one thing she said.

After the show we: Renee had won a meet and greet and I hung around until that was over, but then security made us leave. I heard that they did come outside afterwards to sign stuff, but unfortunately I was gone by then.

The show did/did not meet my expectations because: It wasn’t the life-altering event I hoped it would be, but it was still awesome. the only part that sucked was realizing just how much I had missed out on by never going to a show before. There were a few more songs I wish I could have heard, but I guess that just means I need to go to more shows.

Anything else you would like to include: The walk was probably the most awesome thing. At the end of it, I unknowingly went to stand right where Taylor and Zac wanted to stand for the speech at the end. So I was right next to Zac and people were tweeting that they could see me on the livestream. I just thought that was so cool — how connected the fans are and how everyone was so happy just to see me enjoying myself.
