Pop music history is littered with the playlists of teen sensations who captured the public’s imagination.

Some, like Leif Garrett, the Runaways and the Bay City Rollers flare briefly, then fade away.

Others, such as David Cassidy and New Kids on the Block, are cemented as they were first cast, and struggle with the transition to performing as adults.

The lucky ones — Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Hanson — make a relatively seamless transition to performing as adults.

Blog yourself Silly has written a piece about MMMBop as well, so be sure to check it out 🙂
