Oh what a glorious day for tween pop.
Lincoln Theatre has revealed that it will host late-90s pop sensations Hanson on July 31, while Walnut Creek will host Y2K pop sensations the Jonas Brothers on Oct. 17.
Let the battle begin.
Joining Hanson at the Downtown Raleigh venue will be Rooney; tickets for that show go on sale April 30 for $28 (!!!???) in advance or $30 the day of the show.
The trio, who exploded onto the pop music scene with 1997’s with the single “MMMBop,” is touring in support of its eighth studio album, Shout It Out, which will see a release June 8 through 3CG Records.
As far as the J-Bros go, they will be joined by fellow Disney property Demi Lovato at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion. Ticket information is not yet available, though ticket pre-sales for the tour begin May 15.
A press release about the J-Bros tour explains that fans can expect a show that “will combine spectacular production with unrivaled performances of both artist’s hits as well as music from the Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock, and its highly anticipated sequel.”
Hanson has sold roughly 14 million records worldwide while Jonas Brothers have four fewer albums and sold more than 8 million records worldwide.
