GIG REVIEWS: HANSON 5OF5 LONDON

Express – Hanson sing Give a Little for Daily Express on MUZU.TV

LEAH Simpson checks out the Hanson 5of5 shows in London

1of5: Middle of Nowhere (1997) – When I arrive at King College London Theatre, Hanson’s 5of5 home for the next week, I have already mentally prepared myself for the task that is pushing my way through the human barrier – that is otherwise known as ‘Fansons’ – and hitting bullseye (the bar).

However, swinging open the double doors in dramatic fashion, it seems more likely that I’ve stormed into a quiet student union meeting rather than the crazy crowds you might expect to find at a sold-out five-night series of gigs.

A union meeting with Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson that is, a band of brothers who are proud to have sold over 15 million records worldwide.

As I tiptoe past an almost silent – and half empty – audience, I quickly get the gist of what’s going on.  A select few music lovers are being let in on the ups, downs, dramas and meanings behind Hanson’s most successful album yet.

My First Hanson Concert: Underneath Acoustic Tour

By | June 24, 2011

Name: Missy

Which Tour?: Underneath Acoustic

City/State: Mn

I Went With: my friend Amy

I expected the show to…: start with opening acts and then some. Was
a great time and the only down fall of the show was when some girl who was prob dragged to the show with friends was standing near me and she like punched me in the stomach just because I was jumping up and down and singing but all I did was suck it up and enjoyed the rest of the show. So yeah I didn’t let a idiot ruin my night thats for sure.

We waited in line for this long…: not long cuz a few idiots cut in
front of us and the guards saw them and my friend and I were taken
inside of the venue by security, we didn’t have to wait in line
anymore. So that was a plus and plus I thanked the security guys too.
Was a awesome night.

My favorite song they did was: If Only

A funny thing that happened during the show was…: Hanson saying
funny stuff.

After the show we…: bought a lot of money worth of merch and I
talked to Jessica Hanson too. She helped me pick out the best shirt
and to this day I still wear the shirt and It still fits me.

The show did/did not meet my expectations because…: some idiot
punched me in the stomach cuz I was having a fun time.

Anything else you would like to include: yeah I thought gas passing
would of cleared out the venue more but it didn’t. lol.

Looking for Setlists and Tickets

By | June 23, 2011

Hansonstage is looking for Setlists and Tickets from past concerts to help fill in some blanks.  We have just updated our “help” list (https://blog.hansonstage.com/help/) which has everything listed by year.

Please email tickets@hansonstage.com any information you may have. Please feel free to send along even partial set lists – if we get a couple of partial setlists we can sometimes piece the whole thing together.  Also email if you know that an event listed as missing a ticket did NOT have any tickets (ie it was names on a guest list)  “Tickets” can be paper tickets, wristbands, hand stamps or anything else that gained you admission in to the event. We will accept any photos or scans of these items for the ticket category.

Hanson Goes to London! Part II

By | June 23, 2011

Paper Mag

For my second installment of pics from iconic London, I tried to keep my promise of bringing you photos that were a bit brighter and bolder in contrast to the previous blog, which featured only black and white images. The theme for this week’s selections was “louder,” because most of the pics were taken during the first half of our five-night concert series, which lived up to our expectations and more with fans coming from every corner of Europe — from the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain and beyond — as well as from Australia and Latin America. It was like the United Nations of music fans. The activity surrounding Shout It Out‘s UK release and the kick-off of the sold-out shows was from sun-up till down, but in between the cameras were out capturing everything from cupcakes, technicolor courtyards next to the oldest skateshop in London and the location for our 1997 music vid “Where’s the Love.” Mixed in with the colorful shots are my grainy late-night iPhone pics which captured the gathering fans during our after-show departure and an abstract pic from the celeb-packed, Glamour “Woman of the Year” event. Prolly my favorites are those purely for the art; images of side-streets, bike racks and robot sushi shops, all of which make up a wandering vision of this great city through my various lenses. Hope you enjoy. -TH
