MESSAGE FROM THE BAND
We are back from Latin America with nothing but amazing feelings about our trip. We went to a lot of new places, familiar ones as well, and the sheer number of fans greeting us everywhere we went was overwhelming. We ate well and had a great time on stage from Chile to Mexico. As we boarded our plane traveling north from Sao Paulo to Dallas, heading home for a little break, it felt like this was yet another beginning, like we are turning the corner on something beautiful and difficult and every mind was secretly pondering the same thing. What comes next? Yes, the Middle Of Everywhere Tour will begin again in just about two weeks, crisscrossing the US and Canada, the greatest hits will release sooner than that, we have Back To The Island in January and before the end of this year we will have a new Christmas album out with more tour dates for that. But “what comes next?” is about 2018 – 19 – 20. What is still over the horizon unseen. What are the ideas still formulating, not quite ready to share even with each other? What songs are still finding their voice inside each brothers mind?
The beauty of our job is found in the possibilities. A life that revolves around creation. Imagine that. Weeks spent on a painstaking quest for inspiration. Every day with the potential to bring with it something life changing. It’s a little scary sometimes.
In this year, where we are celebrating a quarter century together, 25 years of making music, or put simply “9,125 consecutive days of not killing each other,” it is clear to to us that nothing changes. From where we stand, whether it’s 1992 or 2017, the future still has the same number of unending possibilities.
