Fans from around the world gathered in Tulsa for Hanson Day, a members-only event Sunday for the die-hard lovers of the band of brothers.

Hanson spokeswoman Rebecca Sarkar of 3CG Records said about 1,500 people attended the limited-entry Hanson Day events for members of Hanson.net.

“The band have been doing events for the fan club for 10 years,” she said.

The festivities included a bowling competition, a block party and an acoustic concert at Cain’s Ballroom.

Members of the Hanson fan club traveled from as far as Paris and Chile to celebrate at the intimate show. Photographer Mike Simons met fans with stories of meeting spouses or lifelong friends from distant lands at Hanson concerts. Some said they are even planning to move to Tulsa because after coming for Hanson Day to see the band’s hometown, they discovered they really like the city.
